Color Dare #717

Hi friends!  We have a new color challenge for you today at:

I used all 4 colors on my card today:

I created my background with the Field Notes set of Lindy's Magicals, using Grazing Grasshopper and Pink Petal Panic. I printed out Flower Girl and Festival Boy (not in shop at the moment) from All Dressed Up, colored with Copics and sponged the edges with the darker pink ink. I attached the panel with foam tape, layering a die cut XO on top and a heart with a sticker text "love" in between the characters. I added one more heart/arrow die cut next to the sentiment on the bottom.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

4-Season Challenge: A Couple

Try it on Tuesday - Inspired by Song

(this card reminds me of "Leather and Lace" by Stevie Nicks & Don Henley)

Life is More Magical... IG Tag Hop!

I am so glad I stumbled upon the tag hop group on IG - I love making tags and this has given me an excuse to save them on a metal ring and actually display them!

You can find me on IG at @craftywitchyjenn

Our theme this time around was to use the paper towel technique. Now what I learned is that you really need paper towels with a good, clear pattern! Mine were more of just a wavy design, so I made the best of it!

I glued my paper towel on to a piece of watercolor paper, then die cut the tag from it (Gina K Designs Tag Trio die set). I then very lightly dragged a blue ink pad over it, then a black ink pad - I went a little more heavily on the edges with the black. I used some black texture paste through a star stencil to create the design on it. I stamped the witch (Simon Says Stamp Hocus Pocus set) & sentiment (Mama Elephant Magical Wizards set) with Versafine Black and embossed with clear embossing powder, colored with Copics and fussy cut. I used a die cut from Emily Moore Designs on the sentiment and attached everything with foam dots. I then tied a black satin ribbon on it to finish it off.

I would like to enter my tag into the following challenges:

Tag-alongs & ATC's - AG/Optional Fashion Parade

Classic Design Challenge - Anything Goes/Optional Use Die Cuts

A Place to Start - AG/Optional No Rectangles

Creative Knockouts #577- Use Your Favorite Embellie (die cuts)

Thanks for visiting! Peace.

Let it Snow - C.R.A.F.T. Challenge #787

Hi friends!  We have a new challenge for you today at

Theme this time around is Christmas

I didn't use any images this time but we are being sponsored by:

TrimGym

I created my background with the reverse stencil technique with the Mid Century Breeze Blocks Mask stencil from A Colorful Life Designs (you can use code JennFan10 for 10% off). I used shades of blue for the original print and then I applied some opaque texture paste through the same stencil. I used the Delicate Snowflake Tag die (Simon Says Stamp) and stamped "Let it Snow" (Pinkfresh Studio) on it, then added some rhinestone stickers for sparkle.

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Jingle Belles - Masculine Merriment

Classic Design Challenge - AG/Use Die Cuts

Lil Patch of Crafty Friends - Anything Goes

Thanks for visiting. Peace.

Mid Century Star Mask Stencil

Good morning friends!  I am SO excited - I am off today to get a tattoo added to my right sleeve, the zodiac sign for little Sonny will be added along with the rest of my grandchildren's signs, but with a rainbow watercolor splash behind it since he's our rainbow baby. :)  I will share pics!

Today I'd like to show off one of the stencils from the August release at:

This one is called Mid Century Star Mask:

This was super easy - I just ink blended Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink on a gray cardstock base through my stencil. I stamped in the lower left corner and on a separate scrap piece with Versafine Black and embossed with clear sparkly embossing powder. I used the Reverse Scallop Circle die cut from Pink & Main to cut out the focal sentiment, sponging the edges in black. I stamped the witch's hat from the If the Hat Fits set from Simon Says Stamp, colored with Copics, fussy cut, and attached with foam tape.

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Stencil Fun August - AG/Optional Clean and Simple (must use stencils)

Try it on Tuesday - Inspired by a Song (Witchy Woman - the Eagles)

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday - Going Around in Circles

Thanks for visiting! Peace.

Just Swinging By

Good morning!  We have a new challenge for you at:

I Love ProMarkers #333

Theme is:  For the Boys

Sponsored by Sheepski Designs

I used a branch die cut layered behind my cute gnome image from Sheepski, which I colored with Copics. He's such a cute little guy and I let him steal the show! Peace.

IG ATC Hop

I just love making ATC's so I was thrilled to join in the monthly ATC hop on IG!  You can find me at @craftywitchyjenn over there.  The only "rules" are that it must be an ATC and you should use the scraps on your desk.  I certainly have enough of those! LOL

I ended up making 2 ATC's and I would like to enter this first one into the following challenges:

Paper Funday #90 - AG/Optional Fancy/Fun Folds

ATC Around the World #140 - Summer/Sun/Beach (Leo - Summer birthday)

Pammie's Inky Pinkies - Anything Goes

AllSorts #856 - Embossing - Dry or Heat

Crafts Galore Encore - Anything Goes

I grabbed a piece of watercolor paper that I had stenciled a sunflower on from my scrap pile and used my ATC die from Mama Elephant to cut the ATC out of the center of it. I stamped the Leo word & lion (both from Mama Elephant) on it with Scorched Timber Distress Oxide Ink and embossed with clear sparkly embossing powder and colored the lion with Copics. I stamped some Leo descriptive words & the constellation (Studio Calico) with the same ink & embossed those as well. I had the die cut crown in my stash, so I embossed that with gold embossing powder. I finished it off by sponging the edges with more of the Scorched Timber ink.

 ........................................................

I love making zodiac ATC's so I have one more - I'll enter this one into the following challenges:

Crafter's Cafe #333 - AG/Optional Easel Cards

Wednesday's Creative Inspiration - Anything Goes

All About Papercraft #8 - Frames

I grabbed a scrap piece of watercolor paper that I had used some Lindy's Magicals on (I believe it's from the Field Notes set, the Dewdrop Dilly Dally color). I used my ATC die from Mama Elephant to cut the ATC. I then used one of the dies from the Decorative Sentiment Dies from Emily Moore Designs (I use these ALL THE TIME) and cut another scrap, then stamped the Sagittarius (stamps from Mama Elephant) on it with Versafine Black and embossed with clear sparkly embossing powder. I stamped the Sagittarius girl with Versafine Black, embossed with clear embossing powder, and colored her with Copics. I mounted her inside the frame and added some rhinestone stickers. Peace.

Gnome Love - Double Trouble #223- Crazy Cousin

Good morning!  I am back for my 2nd posting as Crazy Cousin for the Double Trouble Challenge blog! We are on challenge #223 this week:

And here's the sketch from Try a Sketch on Tuesday:

And here's my creation:

I VERY rarely don't use my own coloring on my projects, but this one was made completely with papers and premade die cuts from Paper Rose's Hey Gnomie! line. It was fun putting it together following the sketch and I added some bling in the form of rhinestone stickers for sparkle.

I will enter my card into the following challenges:

Try a Sketch on Tuesday #702

Pammie's Inky Pinkies - Anything Goes

Creative Fingers #327 - Anything Goes

Thanks for visiting! Peace.

Simon Says Stamp Monday - Funny or Punny

Lil Red Wagon #871 - We Didn't Start the Fire

AllSorts #856 - Embossing Wet/Heat or Dry

I created my background by ink smooshing orange & red Distress Oxide Inks on a piece of watercolor paper. I added a black die cut "waffle strip", stamped the girl from the Dress Up Swissies set from CC Designs with Versafine Black and embossed with clear embossing powder. I colored with Copics, stamped the "sweat" (water droplets from a stamp set from The Greeting Farm), fussy cut, and attached with foam dots. I stamped the flames and sentiments (from The Menopause Chronicles from Unity Stamp Co.) directly on the background and added some Stickles to the flames. Peace.

Simon Says Stamp Monday - Funny/Punny

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday - Summertime Blues

If You Give a Crafter a Cookie #219 - At the Beach

I have so many digis from Krista Smith (previously Saturated Canary) that I think I could use a different one every day for a year or more!  LOL I adore her style. I colored her with Copics (added some glitter to the umbrella and lime and some chunky glitter to mimic salt on the margarita glass) and used an oval stitched edge nesting die to cut her out, which I attached to my background (previously made with Lindy's Magicals) with foam tape. I printed the sentiment out and fussy cut it, sponged the edges, and attached to the die cut clouds (Hero Arts). Peace.

Doing Nothing

Happy Sunday! I hope you get to spend the day doing something for YOU!

I would like to enter this card below into the following challenges today:

Die Cut Divas - White with a Splash of Color (must use die cuts)

A Cut Above - AG/Fall (must use die cuts)

I kept this very clean and simple - I used the smaller frame die from the Mama Elephant Line Detail Frames with some thick shiny white cardstock and attached that with foam tape. I then grabbed a scrap piece of watercolor paper that I had left over from another project that was the perfect color for a Fall leaf and die cut that with one of the dies from the This Calls for Confetti Autumn Artisan die set and attached that with tiny foam squares. I finished it off with a snarky sentiment sticker from a Tim Holtz book. Peace.

My Ducks

I think this was the first weekend all Summer that I didn't have one thing I "had to" do! My hubby is out disc golfing and we have some chicken shish-kebobs marinating for when he gets home. It's a gorgeous day - we will go hang out on the deck and have a drink while he cooks. I am lucky that we get along so well and enjoy each other's company. OK I mean it's not all luck - we work hard at it! LOL  We will celebrate our 33rd anniversary on August 28. :)

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Just Us Girls #836 - Word Week: Water

Simon Says Stamp Monday - Funny or Punny

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday - Summertime Blues

Make My Monday #284 - Boardwalk/Coastal Path

If You Give a Crafter a Cookie #219 - At the Beach

I grabbed a background I had made in my stash that reminded me of a beach, then I used a wave die cut on the water part. I added some die cut stones and starfish. I stamped the girl and duck from Stamping Bella's Beach Bundle Girl with a Floatie set with Versafine Black and embossed with clear embossing powder. I colored with Copics, fussy cut, and attached with foam tape. Sentiment is from Ink Road Stamp Roadies Volume 70. Peace.

school

This is my final week with the Polkadoodles Design Team - it's been a fun couple of years and I appreciate the opportunity.

I can hardly believe it's already time to think about going back to school - Summer sure does fly by! The Rebel characters are some of my all-time favorites so I used Bookworm/Study Rebel for my back-to-school card. I colored her with Copics and used a stitched edge rectangle die to cut her out. I die cut the letters (alpha dies from my stash) for the word SCHOOL and drew stitching on them by hand. The sentiment is a printable from the Graduation School Student Sentiments Quotes set.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Let's Be a Wee Bit Wicked!

I'm definitely ready for Summer to be over and have ALL THINGS HALLOWEEN!  LOL I've been playing with my witchy crafty stuff and having so much fun. I'd like to enter this card below into the following challenges:

Sweet November August FB Challenge - Feature a Night Theme

Two Old Bats - Anything Halloween Goes

Passion for Markers - Use Dies and/or Punches

Cut it Up - Add a Sentiment

Creative Inspiration #41 - Anything Goes

I think making backgrounds might be my favorite thing to do! LOL  For this one, I ink blended Distress Oxide Inks in Chipped Sapphire, Wilted Violet, and Black Soot on a piece of watercolor paper, then flicked water on it and blotted with a paper towel. I used some scrap pieces of cardstock that had been previously colored/distressed with black and gray inks to die cut the moon (Tim Holtz die). I stamped out the witch from the A Wee Bit Wicked set from Sweet November Stamps with Versafine Black and embossed with clear embossing powder. I colored her with Copics, fussy cut, and attached with foam tape. I added the little die cut bat (again, cut from a scrap) and stamped the sentiment on another scrap, then used one of the dies from the Decorative Sentiment Dies from Emily Moore Designs to cut it out. I added 2 little die cut spiders to that to finish it off. Peace.

This is your time to shine

I have some more inspiration to share today for the August release at:

Don't forget to use code JennFan10 to save 10%!

This one is called Mid Century Moons:

I started my background by using Lindy's Magicals in Sea Anemone Amethyst from the Under the Sea 2 set. I then used Villainous Potion Distress Oxide ink through the middle of the Mid Century Moons stencil and Fossilized Amber on the edges and embossed them with clear sparkly embossing powder. I added a sticker sentiment and some purple rhinestone stickers.

Here for the Boo's

It's never too early for Halloween as far as I'm concerned! LOL My actual regular decor has a Halloween-type theme, I am a witch so my house is decorated with crystal balls, gems, tarot cards, skull stuff, LOTS of celestial stuff, etc. - and I crack up when people happen to come in my home for the first time in September or October - they all say "Oh I love how you decorate for Halloween!" and I'm like "yeah... no - this is how I decorate all year!". hee hee

I'd like to enter this card below into the following challengs:

Unity FB Challenge August - Sketch

Two Old Bats - Anything Halloween Goes

Simon Says Stamp Monday - Funny/Punny

AAA Cards - S is for.... (spiders!)

I stamped the spider web and spider (stamps from the Unity Stamp Co. Spooky Spirits set) in the upper right corner with Versafine Black and embossed with clear sparkly embossing powder. I painted some Lindy's Magicals in the lower left corner (Sea Anemone Amethyst), then stamped the eyeball cosmo stamp over it with Versafine Black and embossed with clear sparkly embossing powder. I used the same Lindy's on a scrap piece and stamped the sentiment the same way, then used a die from Emily Moore Designs Sentiment Dies to cut it out and layered it over the spider web. I matted on black cardstock and then matted that on a dark purple card base. Peace.

Sweet Summer Times

We had so much fun blueberry picking yesterday! Here are my 3 little grand-princesses, Lisey (6), RaeRae (7), and Millie (4):

We picked about 5 pounds of blueberries and probably ate another pound along the way!  hee hee Summer will be over before we know it, I hope to squeeze in a few more days like this before school starts!

Colorful Options - Lemongrass (or Rainbow)

Passion for Markers - Dies and/or Punches

Cut it Up #362 - Add a Sentiment

Try it on Tuesday - Make it Colorful

AllSorts #855 - Colors of Summer

I grabbed a background that I had in my stash that was a limey green color with a subtle reverse stencil print from my Ocean Stars stencil from A Colorful Life Designs (you can always use code JennFan10 for 10% off your purchases there). I sprayed some gold Mica Spray Stain on it, then applied white crackle paste through a stencil randomly. I printed out Summer Boy with Turtle Float from All Dressed Up and colored him with Copics and a white gel pen with some Stickles for accents. I fussy cut him and attached him with foam tape. I stamped the sentiment directly on the background with Versafine Black and embossed with clear sparkly embossing powder. I die cut one of the Circle Set Fancy Dies from Hero Arts from another piece of cardstock that had been sprayed with the gold Mica Spray. then die cut the word Hi! (The Greeting Farm) from another scrap and colored it a matching green. Peace.
