A Random Fan & Stampotique

Good morning, friends.  Woke up to a gray sky and rain, but it's still better than snow.  I cannot wait to be able to have my windows open and see the sunshine for more than 10 minutes.  LOL
I was able to make the following card for both of the challenges at A Random Fan, so this is for the:
I used Noah the Cowboy, colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  I added some real buttons for the eyes of his stick-horse (his transportation!), and fussy-cut him out.  I used some of the words from the DP (which is from Carta Bella) to create the sentiment on the little flag coming out of his gun. Finished it off with a little charm I had from Joann's.
....................................................................
I'd like to squeeze this one into the:

stamped my little angel on some Confetti cardstock from Stampin' Up! and tore around her, then inked the edges.  Her wings are colored with Gold Stickles.  I used the art definition stamp for the background, and then spritzed with Log Cabin & Spun Sugar Smooch Spritzes.  Added a piece of rickrack I had in my stash.  Peace.

Hippie Birthday!

Well, yesterday was quite an eventful day.  My husband was playing poker in a tournament, so I went to visit my parents for a bit.  My brother, who is 38 years old and a complete piece of crap, was skulking around making comments about how much my phone is worth (he's known for stealing from us and frequenting the local pawn shops with our belongings, so I try not to let him see that I have anything worth stealing...) and just generally making me uncomfortable and hate him even more...  *sigh*   OK deep breaths - so anyway, my nephew Eric (my sister's son, he's 23 years old) was there and needed a ride home to his house, which is about 1/2 hour away.  I offered to give him a ride home, and we left. We were talking about my brother and what a jerk he is, we were talking about when I showed up to be Eric's prom date (no kidding - long story - click here if you want to read it...LOL) and he said to me "Auntie, I'm so glad you did that - that was the best."  And I was driving and laughing and all of a sudden he started making this weird noise... and I look over, and he's having a seizure.  Eric has epilepsy, and I've only witnessed the after-effects of a seizure, I've never actually been there when he had one.  It was awful.  It was so scary to see someone I love so much look like that... I won't go into detail, but every time I think about it I just burst into tears.  :(  The thing is, I love this kid as much as my own - man, it was just terrifying.  There is nothing you can do except wait for it to be over.  Ugh.  My poor sister.  :(

OK so anyway - moving on to the reason you're here.  Today's card is for my friend Annik, who is a fellow hippie like me and has a birthday coming up on Saturday.  This is for the:

I would also like to enter this into the:

Oh and also to the center of the silver flower brad (SU!). Papers are from my stash (someone sent me a little packet of papers I've been hoarding and these were from that stack). Have a nice Sunday!  Peace.

Kiss Me: I'm a Wee Bit Irish

Good morning and happy Monday!  I had a blast yesterday celebrating St. Patrick's Day a little early with some friends - here's my friend Kim, myself, and my friend Michelle:

Aren't we cute?  ;)  We skipped the actual parade and met at the local Irish bar/restaurant, which was absolutely packed.  It was just a fun afternoon, and I was home by 5:30/6:00.  Which was good, because I was UP until the same time the night before... picking up my daughter from a party she went to that was over an hour away.  She called me in the middle of the night wanting to come home, so I went and got her.  I'm such a good mom.  :)  Anyway, last night I slept for almost 11 hours - I guess I needed it!

So today's card is on track with the St. Patrick's Day theme - this one is for the Stamp of the Month challenge at:

I colored the adorable Hamlet Pigwit Think Spring image with Prismacolor pecils & mineal spirits and I added Stickles to the clovers.  Papers are some printables I found online, ribbon is from Stampin' Up! and the charm is from my stash (I colored it in with green Stickles).  Peace.

CC Designs & Sassy Studio

Happy Sunday - today is the St. Patrick's Day parade in my city.  Although I don't go to the parade (too many people for me), I am heading to the local Irish bar/restaurant this afternoon to spend some time with friends!  My husband is heading home this week, too, so I'm going to save the corned beef dinner for next weekend.  :)

I have been on a freaking roll lately - it's good to have my mojo back!  Today I have 2 cards to share, the first is for the:

I went with a card for my husband - I know it's got pink in it, but I thought it screamed "knight in shining armor" and Jeremy really does fit that bill.  ;)  So I used the little Meoples digis, colored with Prismacolor markers, pencils, and mineral spirits and I added some Stickles, too.  Papers are from MME, ribbon and sentiment are from Stampin' Up!

And next is a card I made for the Senti-Mint release/blog hop challenge at:

The challenge was to use the freebie that was hidden along the hop - the cute little "You are the Apple of my Eye" sentiment.  I traced the word APPLE from the sentiment onto the blackboard (not a great job, but it will do...), colored the image (printed on DP) with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits and printed the sentiment out separately, then added a little apple from the DP to the corner of the sentiment and attached them both to the card using pop dots.  Added a little ribbon tag, and it was done. I have to say that the new Sassy Studio Sentiments are just awesome - I love them all!  Peace.
