Sunset on Sonoma County State Beach

Now this is something you definitely can't watch on the East coast - the sun setting over the ocean!  While in California, Jeremy and I sat on Sonoma County State Beach watching the sun set, it was just gorgeous:

Have I mentioned I cannot wait to go back?  ;)  Peace.

Route 1 - Sonoma County to Mendocino County

So here are the pics from our 5-hour drive up the west coast of California, from Sonoma County to Mendocino County.  We set out in the afternoon and returned just as the sun was setting - it was gorgeous.  I had almost 100 pictures, so I tried to be "picky" with what I shared, so as not to bore you... but man, what a beautiful ride.  Here we go:

Yes, this is the ROAD you see below.... it literally has cliffs on each side:

House Jeremy and I claimed as ours (hee hee - and either one will do...):
I just love this picture, something about the barbed wire... I don't know, I just love it:

Wild peacocks!  ha ha ha  We were cracking up:

So there you go!  Gorgeous, no?  Yes.  I cannot WAIT to go back. *sigh*  I will have more pics to share of our road trip returning back home... we really do live in a beautiful country.  Peace.

California & Life

OK so by now most of you are aware that my family and I had decided to move from Massachusetts to California this past Summer, but that we changed our minds for various reasons.

Sooooo - by the time we changed our minds, everything we own had already been sent out there.  This was back in August.  So 2 weeks ago, Jeremy and I flew out to California to get our stuff and drive back home with it.  We have some wonderful family and friends who helped take care of the kids, get them to school and back, etc., and we spent a couple of days with Jeremy's mom before beginning the trek back home.

The day after we arrived, we went for a little day trip to the beach.  This particular beach is called Goat Rock Beach and the reason is that at low tide, goats would wander out onto these rocks on the beach - but get stuck there as the tide came back in.  It's beautiful and it's on the Sonoma County State Beach, if you know the area (northern California):
Jeremy & myself - I didn't feel so good, I almost always get a migraine the day after flying:

I love the west coast beaches - they are so different from east coast beaches:

So Jeremy and I packed up a 16-foot truck with everything we own and we drove home - it took us 5 days.  We are still staying at Jeremy's grandmother's house right now, while Jeremy's dad builds an apartment for us in his basement.  We are going to live there for a year or so - if Cassidy does well in school, we are going to try to let her finish up high school here, since that is what she desperately wants. But if she fails, we're moving to California next year - it's where we really all want to be, except Cassidy.  Trevor graduates this year, and has been seriously talking about joining the Coast Guard.  Regardless, we WILL move to California some day - I just believe the timing was not right this Summer.
Our apartment is going to be small but cute - and BRAND NEW.  I'm actually really excited about it - it should be done in a few weeks and I can post pics and stuff.  I have more California pics to share - stay tuned for a blog post about our 4-hour drive up scenic Route 1 along the coast - OMG is all I have to say!  :)  Peace!

Moore State Park - Paxton, MA

Towards the end of August, my friend Missy and I took the kids to this gorgeous state park, Moore State Park, in Paxton, Massachusetts. It's only 20 minutes or so from my house, but I'd never been there before. I was so glad I had my camera. Here are some of the pics:

Cool carving on a tree, a peace sign!

There is just nothing like nature. I hope to go back there again during the Fall season to enjoy the foliage, it must be gorgeous. I don't have much time left, actually. Maybe this weekend...
Peace.
