WW ATC Black and White & Amber Inklings!

Hello there!  Today is Wednesday which means a new challenge and new theme at my ATC challenge blog:

I made this ATC with a plain white ATC cardstock base and the sentiment from Tiddly Inks lined up in the center.  The unicorn and butterfly are digi images from The Greeting Farm,  fussy-cut and applied with adhesive.  I tied a silver ribbon around it and done!

I made one more with this beautiful owl stamp that I got from a challenge I won at Prickley Pear:
I'm entering this little owl ATC into:
The Sisterhood of Crafters Challenge - Polka Dots
and
Paper and Such - No Coloring
ATC's are so much fun to make - I hope you'll come check us out and play along!
*******************************
So today is my first post as a December Guest Designer for the Amber Inklings Blog!  Here's another card I made with the adorable Mermaid Friendship digi set:
I am also entering this into the:
Digital Tuesday Challenge - Go Green

DP is a digital paper from Amber Ink.  I colored with Prismacolor markers, and spritzed the entire thing with Emerald Smooch Spritz.  Buttons are from my stash. OK and did you see their awesome post yesterday introducing us December guest girls?  They totally rock and made me laugh out loud.  What's better than that?  :)  Not much.
Peace.

Amber Inks Announcement & Sassy Studio PCP

Hello friends -
I can finally tell you one more of my SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS!!!  hee hee
I was very excited when I got an email from my buddy Meredith asking if I'd take the torch from her and be a Guest Designer for Amber Ink for the month of December!

I am honored to be carrying the PINK torch for this coming month!!! and I am carrying it alongside some fabulous artistes (that's, like, French for female artists - right?)...
Kaija
Ashley Newell
Angela Kelley
Shirl

Do hop on over to the Amber Inklings Blog to read these ladies bios and see their adorable faces.
I really want to thank my sweet and supportive friend Meredith who entrusted me with the torch, she knows she asked at the right time, I needed the ego boost!  LOL  Please do visit Meredith's blog PaperCanteenCreations and leave her some love.
So this coming month I will be a part of the THINK TANK, which means I'll be busy creating lots of cool things using the Amber Ink range of designs.  Here's something I made with the set that I chose as my little welcome gift, Baby Mermaids - Friendship, just to show you how cute these images are:
Thanks for trusting me with the torch, Meredith!  :)
*****************************************************
Next I just wanted to share the card I made for the Friday Freebie challenge at Sassy Studio's PaperCraftPlanet Group
I colored the freebie with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits, and misted the whole thing with Emerald Smooch Spritz.  Added green gemstone stickers in the corners.  :)
Peace.

Amber Inks PINNY Party and Tiddly Inks

Soooo - are any of you Pinterest junkies, like me?  LOL  I can spend hours on Pinterest, checking out stuff and re-pinning like crazy.  So fun.  And I get so many great ideas!  I was thrilled to play along with the
It's basically only open through the weekend, so you'll have to get crackin' today if you want to play along!  But the way it works is like this - pick something you've pinned on Pinterest, that contains at least some paper, and re-create it!  Then link it up (click link above for Amber Inks).  That's it!  So I based my project on this pin by Rachel Cleveland here.  And here's my interpretation of it:

Of course, I had to go with something Alice in Wonderland related, I simply adore all things Alice - plus I was looking for a reason to use my new image from Saturated Canary.  :)  I colored her up with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits.  The background (tag base) is glossy white cardstock from Stampin' Up!  sprayed with Silver Foil Smooch Spritz, stamped with a heart background stamp from SU! and then sponged with some red ink.  I then dragged the edges through a black ink pad and added a piece of ribbon from my scrap bag.  I'm quite pleased with the results!

I have another of Cassidy's cards to share with you today, too.  She is especially proud of this card - you know how sometimes you just love how something comes together?  I loved the look of satisfaction on her face when she completed this one.  :)  She wants to enter this into the:

Cass used Girl with Flag and Sandcastle from Tiddly Inks, colored with Prismacolor markers.  DP is from SU!  The flower is fussy-cut from the DP is applied with a foam dimensional dot.  Starfish is from my stash and the dolphin is a little wooden guy I picked up somewhere along the way, probably a $1 bin somewhere.  LOL  I love how she created the patchwork background, it just works so well with the colors and everything - plus she's helping me use up my scraps!  hee hee

Hope you all have a fabulous Sunday!  xoxo
Peace.

Art With No Boundaries & Digi Darla

Happy Saturday!  I think I'm finally recovered (well, mostly) from my Black Friday shopping trip and lack of sleep.  LOL  So first - check out today's reminder post over at my:
***********************************************************
I have another creation today for the:
I made a card this time and I focused on the green and added a touch of red to her lips.  I used black and white DP from My Mind's Eye to give it an elegant look, and added some green ribbon tags, green gemstone stickers, and gold glitter for the finishing touches.  Hope you like!  :)

And Cass (my 16-year-old daughter) has one for the:

Cass used "Cat Christmas" from Digi Darla, colored with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits and Copic markers.  DP is from My Mind's Eye - ribbon is from Stampin' Up!  She added the snowflakes with foam dimensional dots - so cute!  :)  I can't even tell you how much I'm enjoying crafting with my daughter and I'm so glad she's enjoying it!

Today I am heading out to grab a few things before the sales end, and then we're cooking our own turkey and stuff.  I think I look more forward to the left-overs than the actual meal!  LOL  I'll be at my craft table for most of the weekend, though - gotta get all my stuff for the week ready, as I start my new job on Monday!  Can't wait!   Enjoy your weekend, my friends!  Peace.

Art With No Boundaries & Bellariffic Friday

Oh my gosh I'm exhausted!  I went shopping last night - stores were supposed to be "open all day and night" and some were opening at 10 p.m.  But they didn't.  They opened at 12:30 a.m. the earliest - which meant we sat in the car for an hour and a half getting more and more tired.  We did get a little done, but not as much as we usually do.  I was home by 3:30, but I still didn't sleep great.  Tonight's gonna be an early night for me!

I have another ATC for you today, this one is for the:

I used the Charisma Montage digi and fussy cut her out, using only portions of the image.  I've been giving her quite a work-out, I've used her for a few things in the past couple of weeks!  LOL  I just love this image.  I colored her with Prismacolor markers, and added gold glitter.  Ribbon is from SU!  DP is from Crate Paper.

Next is my card for this week's Bellariffic Friday:
I used one of the Pixies, stamped in Sepia ink and embossed with sparkly clear embossing powder.  The entire glossy cardstock is sprayed with Log Cabin Smooch Spritz.  I added buttons and a piece of ribbon from SU!
Peace.

Squeezing in one more for....

I just realized I never posted this tag I made for a couple of challenges and the deadline for one of them is in 8 hours, so it can't wait for tomorrow!  LOL  I made a tag for the:

Simon Says Stamp - Tag, You're It
and

I used Angeline from CS Designs, colored with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits, and added glitter to her wings.  I am also entering this into the:
Digital Tuesday Challenge - Sparkle and Shine

And while I'm here, I may as well post Cass's card for the:
Cass used a digi image from Digi Darla, colored with Prismacolor markers.  The DP is all digi papers, and she added gemstone stickers.  She fussy-cut a giant leaf out of one of the digi papers and added it as an embellishment with foam dimensionals.  Can you tell my girl likes kitties?  LOL  She also DREW those clouds into her background, then covered them with white Fun Flock.  Pretty creative, I must say!  ;)
Peace.

Happy Thanksgiving (and challenge cards, of course)

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!  I wanted to start today off by reminding myself of all that I have to be thankful for.  Sometimes it's easy to forget everything that we've been blessed with, especially when we've been dealing with some less-than-ideal circumstances.  So today, I want to remember how thankful I am.  I'm thankful that my girl spent the day with me baking and crafting yesterday (yeah, there was not much cleaning going on - hee hee), and we had a blast.  We made lemon bars, Chex Mix, sweet potato casserole, and peanut butter cookies.  And lots of cards.  :)  I'm thankful that my son is doing well in college, and that my husband's trade is picking up again and work seems to be plentiful.  I'm thankful that I got a part-time job.  But I'm also thankful for you, my stamping sistahs.  Your comments, your inspirational blogs, your artwork - you all bring sunshine into my life on a daily basis.  There are days when I'm feeling sad and sorry for myself, and you girls always make me smile.  So thank you.  xoxo

I CASEd this card here by Vixxen to come up with this card below for:

and

I used Ruby's Candy Cane from Dilly Beans, colored with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits.  Cardstock, DP, and ribbon are from Stampin' Up!  Button and pearl stickers are from my stash.
Next is a card I made for the:

Crafty Ann's Challenge - Sketch
and
Stamptacular Sunday - Boy oh Boy

I used Spritz the little boy cutie Elf from Saturated Canary, isn't he just delectable?  LOVE HIM.  DP is from My Mind's Eye - hope you like it.  I was quite pleased with this one myself.  :)
And last for today - Cass's card for the:
Cheerful Stamp Pad - Who's Wearing Santa's Hat?
Cass colored with Prismacolor markers, and used DP from My Mind's Eye.  Buttons are from Stampin' Up! and from my stash.

Have a fabulous Thanksgiving, my friends.  I'm off to enjoy the day with my family and stuff myself with lots of good foods!  Peace.  xo

D2D, Simply Create & Cheerful Stamp Pad

Happy Wednesday!  Be sure to check out the new challenge today at
Wicked Wednesdays ATC Challenge!  Here's a snippet of the eye candy:

I colored Michelle Perkett's "Stella the Summer Storyteller" with Prismacolor markers.  Cardstock is from SU!  DP strips are from My Mind's Eye.   After printing out my image and cropping it closely, I dragged the edges through black ink before attaching to my ATC.

I've been a busy girl because I knew I wouldn't get much of a chance to be crafty today - Cass and I will be cleaning and baking for much of the day.  Then tomorrow is Thanksgiving - one of my favorite holidays.  I mean, how can you not love a holiday that focuses solely on eating?  hee hee  So here's what I have for you today - for the:
and

I colored this delightful holiday bear with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits.  DP is from My Mind's Eye.

Next is my card for:

I used Emo Mermaid from Just Some Lines, along with a Santa hat from The Stamp Fairy (freebie).  I colored with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits and added some sticky pearls for her "top".  LOL  I used DP from My Mind's Eye and buttons from my stash.

Cass made a card for this challenge, too - I'll be posting that one tomorrow!  :)
Peace.

Fun News - Plus CES, Sugar Bowl, Just Magnolia & TI

You know, I'm amazed at how things come together sometimes.  In a good way!  LOL  I had been struggling with a decision that I didn't want to make, and it was eating away at me.  I've been finding myself feeling overly emotional and sensitive lately, and although I know the holidays magnify those feelings for me, I couldn't blame it solely on that.  Anyway, as soon as I made my decision and let it go, I felt like a huge weight had been lifted.  And almost instantly, good things started coming my way.  It's killing me not being able to share yet, but I've got some Design Team news that I'll be sharing very soon - and guess what?  It's more than one.  hee hee  I'm sooooo excited to have a chance to be working with some amazing artists over the next few months!

**Update - I can share one of them, it's been announced!  hee hee  I'm SUPER excited to be one of the first DT members of the new
Yay - how cool is this?  I adore Dilly Beans creator, Megan - she's a member of my Wicked Wednesdays ATC Challenge Blog DT, and I've been a fan of her artwork since the first day I stumbled across her blog.  Click on the badge above to see the DT announcement (a few of my buddies are on the team with me, Meredith & Donna & Jennifer & Susan, I squealed with glee when I saw that!  And several other uber-talented ladies that I cannot wait to get to know better!) and be sure to bookmark the challenge blog!  Our first challenge will be Friday, December 2.  Did I say yay?!?  :)  Here's a little ATC I made in honor of my announcement, and I'm linking this up to the:

ATC Challenge Blog - Anything Goes

I printed out the angel wings and attached them to the ATC, then used foam dimensional dots to attach Olive in Piggytails (colored with Prismacolor markers).  I drew the halo, cut it out and covered it with gold glitter before adhering to her head.  :)

I had a blast making this first card for the:

I used scrap pieces of DP from My Mind's Eye, and colored my image with Prismacolor markers and Prismacolor pencils blended with mineral spirits.  Green ribbon is from SU!  Pink ribbon is from my stash.

Next is my card for:

CES Challenge #62 - Snowflakes
and

I colored my image with Copics and Prismacolor markers.  DP is from My Mind's Eye - button is from foof-a-la.

AND - Cass is in love with the Tiddly Inks images (how can you not be?).  Every time we craft together, she chooses TI images.  :)  So she made 2 more cards for the Tiddly Inks - Anything Goes challenge they're having for another week.  Here's one of them, I'll post the other tomorrow:

She used Purrrfect Girl, colored with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits.  She fussy-cut the tuna can, fish, and bowl from the paper, turning them into embellishments, and mounted them with foam dimensional dots.  Pretty clever, eh?  I'm so proud.  :)
Peace.

Crimbo Crackers, Jellypark, & Sweet Stampin'

Monday morning of a short week - love it.  I have to get my teeth cleaned today.  I'm afraid of the dentist.  When I was a little girl, my dentist was a big, rough man with big, rough hands.  And I had a little tiny mouth.  :(  I hated the dentist from the first time I went.  Which, of course, leads to me avoiding it at all costs.  Not a good thing.  I've had a hole in one tooth for years on the right side of my mouth and because I don't chew on that side anymore, I now have a cavity in one of my teeth on the left side.  *sigh*  Time to face the music and get it taken care of.  BUT - my kids' dentist is AWESOME - and even though she doesn't usually see adults, she agreed to take me because she heard me talking about how scared I am to go.  LOL  What a sweetheart, huh?

I played with some of the images I won from Jellypark this weekend and made a couple cards for challenges.  This one is for the

I colored Girl and Christmas Stocking with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits, and added white sparkly Fun Flock to the stocking.  I added Dazzling Diamonds glitter to her nightgown and outlined the sentiment with it.  I also added clear gemstone brads.
Next is an ATC I made for the
I colored Sitting Fairy with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  Cardstock and rub-on bumblebee are from SU!  Faux stitching sticker is from SRM Press, "thank you" sticker is from my stash.

And last for today is a card I made with another stamp I won from a challenge (Star's Fairy Challenge Blog Hop) - this one is from Simply Betty and is for the

I colored Big Gift Lilly with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits.  DP is from My Mind's Eye - sentiment is a sticker from SRM Press.
Peace.

Sunday Stuff

Good morning!  Cass (16-year-old daughter) and I did some crafting yesterday, and she decided to make a card for the:

Cass used Computer Freak, colored with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits.  She added glitter to her glasses.  She's doing a pretty good job, isn't she?  I love hanging out with her, and I'm loving that she's enjoying making cards with me!  :)

This card was made by me with 3 challenges in mind:
and
and

I used the "Happy Thanksgiving" freebie from Sassy Studio's PaperCraftPlanet group's Freebie Friday, colored with Prismacolor markers.  Cardstock is from SU!  Gemstone stickers are from my stash.

We are going to gram's (Jeremy's gram's) for Thanksgiving, I'm making a sweet potato casserole and cranberry salsa to serve with tortilla chips.  YUM.  Cass wants to make peanut butter cookies, so there may be some baking ahead of me today.  Have a wonderful, relaxing Sunday, my friends.  Peace.

(how clever is that?  hee hee)

I stamped on DP from My Mind's Eye, and used my SU! punches to layer the circles.  Ribbon is from my stash.  I spritzed the whole thing with Gold Glow Smooch Spritz.

CS Designs, ADFD, RRR, and Squiggles & Giggles

Oh it's finally Friday!  I'm heading to lunch with one of my best friends, An, today.  I can't wait to see her, her birthday was the other day so I have a card and a package of handmade cards for her, I hope she likes them.  :)  I love being able to make gifts for my friends, it's just so much more fun than buying junk.  So what are you all up to this weekend, anything fun?  Jeremy did some work for a friend who just opened a new restaurant a few weeks ago.  His friend told him to "bring your wife in for a free dinner when we open" and they opened a few days ago, so I think we might head down for our free dinner Saturday night.  We never go out, we are total homebodies, so it will be nice to go on a little date!  :)

I have a few things to share today, I've been in the Christmas-crafting mood lately, so I made a couple of holiday ATC's for challenges.  My first one is for the:
I used the adorable Angeline, colored with Prismacolor markers.  DP is from My Mind's Eye, button is from my stash.  I kept it simple, I wanted the focus to be on Angeline and her pretty wings covered in Dazzling Diamond glitter from Stampin' Up!

Next up is another ATC - I just love making these, it's really funny because when I first started making them, I found it very challenging to create on such a small canvas.  But once I started making them, I just couldn't stop!  LOL  I love the small canvas now - it's fun to force myself to keep embellishments to a minimum and focus on making the most of the space I've got to work with.  The other thing I love about them is being able to use handwriting for words/sentiments, doodles, etc. - I wouldn't do that on a card, but I have more freedom with ATC's.  After all, I don't have to give them to anyone if I don't want to, you know?  So anyway - this one is for 2 challenges:
and

I used the Teddy in Stocking image from A Day for Daisies, added white Fun Flock to the stocking top.  The rest is colored with Prismacolor markers.  Cardstock and heart brad are from SU! and is spritzed with Gold Glow Smooch Spritz.  Ribbon is an adhesive-backed ribbon from Offray.
And last for today is something that my 16-year-old daughter Cass actually made, it's an altered chipboard coaster with a magnet on the back, and this one is for the:

Cass used Mod Podge to apply the DP to the coaster, colored her Raggypony Squiggle Stamps image with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits, and added buttons with adhesive dots.  She glued a magnet to the back and voila - done!  I am so glad she's creating with me, and enjoying it - it makes for some really great mother/daughter girl time.  I love this kid to the moon and back.  :)  If you leave her a comment here, I'll be sure to pass it on to her!  Thanks!

Have a fabulous Friday, my friends.  Peace.

Tags and ATC's

I don't know about you all, but sometimes I get on a roll with creating stuff besides cards.  I've been having fun with my art journal, ATC's, and tags.  For today, I've got a couple of my newest creations to share with you!
First up - this tag was made for the:

This gorgeous Charisma Montage digi image is from CS Designs.  I colored it with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits.  Cardstock is from SU! and that ribbon (is that crochet ribbon? LOL) was in my stash bag.  I LOVE this tag!

Next I have an ATC for the:

I used Little Winter Fairy from A Day for Daisies, colored with Prismacolor markers.  I used white Fun Flock on her wings, so pretty!  DP is from 7Gypsies, gemstone stickers are from my stash.  Sentiment is from The Octopode Factory.

Peace.

Wicked Wednesdays, Sketch Saturday, and ATC Challenges

Well that came quicker than I expected - good news!  I was really excited to get an e-mail from a woman I used to work with, at a job I loved, asking if I was interested in a part-time job.  Long story short, I took the job and I start one week from Monday.  I started out doing this same job almost 10 years ago, and I loved it.  I'm really happy to be going back, and life is just finally feeling like it's moving forward.  Instead of one step forward, 2 steps back, we're finally at a point where we get to take a few steps forward before we have to take any back!  LOL  It's a really good feeling.  The best part is that I don't go in to work until 3:00 on Thursdays, and I have Fridays and weekends off.  AND I'm out by 3:00 on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.  So I shouldn't have to worry about work interfering with my creative time!  ha!  ;)  Seriously, though, art is like therapy to me, and I just can't imagine my life without art being a big part of it.  This job allows me to do that, did I mention that I'm super excited?  :)
So anyway - today is Wednesday, which means it's time for a new challenge at

Our theme this week is FLOWERFUL - check out the new post and link up here.  I colored my image with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits.  DP is from Stampin' Up!  Gemstone stickers are from my stash.

I have another ATC to share with you today, too.  This one is for the:

and

This adorable digi image is from Digi Darla, the background map is a rubber stamp that I just can't for the life of me remember where it's from!  I colored with Prismacolor markers and spritzed with Silver Foil Smooch Spritz.  I simply adore making ATC's.  I like to put an adhesive magnet on the back and send them along with a card to a friend.
Last for today is my card for the:

I used Emo Angel Little Dip from Just Some Lines, colored with Prismacolor and Stampin' Up! markers.  Brads are from SU!  DP is from My Mind's Eye.  Sticker sentiment is from my stash.
Peace.

Sassy Stuff & Just Magnolia

Hello friends - I had a "moment" yesterday, one of those moments when I realized that after a very long year, things actually seem to be falling into place.  I can't really go into much detail yet, but I hope to have quite a few pieces of good news to share with you all in the next few weeks (and NO, no babies, let's just squash that rumor mill right away - HA!).  Just keep your fingers crossed for me, K?  Thanks.  :)

So yesterday I made a few cards, first up is my card for the:

I absolutely adore this Queen of Hearts Card digi image from Sassy Studio.  Cardstock, DP, ribbon, glitter, and rub-on sentiment from Stampin' Up!

This image is last week's Friday Freebie from the Sassy Studio group at PaperCraftPlanet.  They very generously post a new freebie every Friday - available for 24 hours only, so make sure you stop by on Fridays!  Anyway - I used glossy white cardstock, sprayed with Log Cabin and Gold Glow Smooch Spritz, as the background.  I also sprayed those spritzes all over the image before I colored it.  Sentiment is a sticker from SRM Stickers.

And last is my card for the:

I used Tilda with Rose, colored with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits.  Cardstock is from SU!  DP is from My Mind's Eye - buttons are from foof-a-la.

And last for today - please visit Desert Islands Crafts Challenge - I got to choose the itinerary for this week, and here's the card I came up with using one of Michelle Perkett's GORGEOUS images:

That's all for now!  Peace.

Saturated Canary & Stampin' Royalty

I had the best day yesterday - I pretty much crafted all day, which was awesome.  But what was even more awesome was that Cass, my 16-year-old daughter, crafted with me!  She made 2 beautiful cards and one magnet - for today, I'll share one of her cards with you.  I was super impressed - she chose a Just Some Lines image (Emo Elenora Sunflower) and just like her mama, she colored it with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits:

Isn't it great?  She never thought she was creative, but I think she has more confidence now.  We had a blast yesterday, it was just so nice spending time with my girl.  She's such a pleasure to be around.  :)

Now here is what I came up with yesterday, first is my card for the:

I used Pink Punkette from Saturated Canary, colored with SU! markers, Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits.  Cardstock and brads are from SU!  "blessed" sticker from SRM Stickers.
Next is my card for the:

I made an ATC and used a digi from Heather Ellis, colored with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits.  Cardstock is from Stampin' Up!  Ribbon is from my stash.

Oh and it's also my day to post over at the Just Some Lines blog, so go check out my other cards over there and leave me some love.  :)

Peace.
