Happy Veteran's Day! Jeremy and I spent the last 3 nights watching "Vietnam in HD" on the History channel, and I was just amazed. The majority of the soldiers who fought in Vietnam were just kids. I can't tell you how many times I looked at Jeremy with tears in my eyes and said "He looks like a BABY!" or "He can't be any older than Trevor (our son)." I was born in 1971, and my father managed to avoid the war despite the fact that he turned 18 in 1967. I don't know the specifics, but I can't help but marvel at the fact that my sister and brother and I might never have been born at all if our father had been sent to 'Nam. Gives me goosebumps, and makes me extremely grateful for the men who DID go. What a horrible war - and to think these kids were treated so poorly when they came home, expecting parades and love from their country... well, my eyes fill with tears just thinking about it. Today, on Veteran's Day, my thoughts will be with the men and women who served and continue to serve our country, whether I "believe in" the specific war(s) or not - but Vietnam vets hold a special place in my heart. Please know that this girl appreciates you and will NEVER forget.

And last - here's a little ATC I made for the November challenge on PaperCraftPlanet - A Day for Daisies:
That's all for today - everyone has the day off thanks to Veteran's Day, so we're bringing Jeremy's car in to be looked at (big old tree branch fell on it during the snowstorm), and then going grocery shopping. Then I want to come home and curl up on the couch with my new Stephen King book, 11/22/63. It's about a guy who goes back in time to try to prevent the assassination of JFK. I know once I pick it up, I'm not going to be able to put it down. LOL Have a great day! Peace.
