Funny

Hello everyone.  I removed part of the post I wrote the other day about stealing because I found out that it was an ongoing concern for the particular company I mentioned, and I didn't want to do or say anything that might hurt that company.  But I have to say something here - I have been contacted by 3 people with harassing, bullying e-mails because of this situation.  They are just not nice people.  Two of them went so far as to track me down on Facebook.  When you are this aggressive with your behaviors and words, you have to realize how guilty it makes you look.  I am not upset, I am not angry.  I have never said one mean thing and I won't stoop to your level.  I feel bad for the true artist whose work is being stolen, but I support her by purchasing her art.  That's all I can do and that is my final word on the subject.  :)

On to business - for today I have a card for:

I used the gorgeous Birds Nest image, colored with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits.  DP is a Kraft cardstock from Tim Holtz, LOVE it.  I added a button and some glitter and a few pearl stickers.  I just love these ADFD images, they are so much fun to color and a nice change from my normal cutesy stuff.  But they have plenty of cutesy, too!  :)

We have another challenge for you at:

Oh and p.s. - he won't see this, but I have to say HAPPY 21st BIRTHDAY to my awesome nephew, Eric.  He's a special kid (OK, GUY, whatever!) and I love him to pieces.  Hope he has a safe and happy 21st!  :)

Peace.

Saturated Canary, Octopode Factory, CS Designs and JSL

And Monday's here again - that came quick!  :)  I had a nice, quiet weekend - made lots of cards and ATC's and have a full week's worth of stuff to share.

First up is a tag I made for the:

I used heart shaped punches on my tag.  I printed my image on Kraft cardstockand colored with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits.  I used a heart background stamp and "Be Mine" stamp from SU!
Next is a card I made for:

I colored my Lion image with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits, and sprayed with purple Glimmer Mist.  I used a stencil for the background on the cardstock, and an astrology wheel I found on Google for part of the background.  I added some black ribbon tags to finish it off.

We have a new challenge for you over at:

Art With No Boundaries - All You Need is Love

I used Red and Kraft cardstock, dragged my images through a red ink pad to distress them and did the same to the Kraft background.  Added some buttons along the side and done!

And last - today's my day to post over at the:

I used 2 of the new images, Emo Alek & Amber I Will Catch You and the word "LOVE":

Simon Says...

Goooooooooood morning!  I made it to AC Moore yesterday and put a nice little dent in my gift card that I had received for Christmas.  It was great because I had 3 coupons, a $10 reward certificate from my AC Moore Rewards card, AND the gift certificate my wonderful hubby gave me for Christmas.  So I bought some things that I just wanted to experiment with - I got some alcohol inks and a bottle of blending solution, can't WAIT to try my hand with these.  I also got a bottle of this "crackle" stuff - basically it's a liquid that you lay on top of an image and it dries to a cracked finish.  I have done the layering of UTEE and then "breaking" it to give it that look, but thought this sounded even easier!  I also got some Tim Holtz stuff, man I love his stuff.  I got some cool tapes (they are sort of transparent with designs on them - I got musical notes (see project below), dictionary-looking definitions, butterflies, and script.  Oh and these awesome glitter markers from Martha Stewart, LOVE THEM!  I also got a big 12x12 pad of Tim Holtz Kraft DP with cool designs on it.  I try to stay away from the larger DP because I don't really scrapbook, but sometimes I just can't resist and I usually cut it into 6x6 pieces when I get home.  I used a piece on yesterday's HDH project here, if you want to see.

I played around for a few hours yesterday but today is my long crafting day and I can hardly wait to get started.  I slept late this morning, which is also nice to do on Sundays, isn't it?   I'm just finishing my coffee now and then I'll do some laundry and get started crafting.  LOVE Sundays.  :)
I also love the Simon Says Stamp shop so I try to play along with the following 2 challenges every week (the prize is always a gift certificate to the store).  It helps that they always have cool themes to play with! And this week I was able to combine the challenges and do one project - here is my little tag for the:

and

My song title is "Dazed and Confused" by Led Zeppelin.  I used "Dunce Cap Zombie with Heart" by Dilly Beans, colored with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits, and Prismacolor markers.  I sprayed with Silver Foil Smooch Spritz before adhering the image.  Musical note tape by Tim Holtz.  Ribbons and pearl stickers are from my stash.

Have a happy Sunday, my friends!  Peace.

My Kraft map DP is from Tim Holtz - mermaid image is from Dilly Beans, printed on Kraft cardstock and colored with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits.  I added gray pearl stickers to her hair and black pearl stickers behind her.  I tied some twine around the whole thing and spritzed with Spun Sugar Smooch Spritz.

Dilly Beans, Jellypark, & Sassy Studio Freebie Friday

Happy Friday!  I have the day off from work today, but I have a busy day!  I'm heading out soon to take gram to Walmart, then I have a lunch date with my sister, and then we are bringing Trevor to take his learner's permit test (driving) this afternoon AND he has an appointment to speak with an Army recruiter (gulp!).  So I just wanted to quickly post my stuff for today and I hope you all have a fabulous Friday.  :)

We have a new challenge for you at:

I used Megan's Alice image, and paired her with a bottle of poison.  I also used one of Megan's frames, then tore back the pieces to create a frame.  Cardstock, DP, and brads are from Stampin' Up!

Next up - we have a new challenge AND a new release for you at:

I made 2 ATC's using the sweet new bunting, there are 4 styles so you can choose which suits whatever project you're working on:

And I also made a card with the adorable penguin:

And last  - today is my final post as a guest designer for Sassy Studio's Freebie Friday on PaperCraftPlanet.  Here's my card:

Sassy Studio, Celebrate the Occasion, & Digistamps4Joy

Ahhhhh.... Thursday.  I don't go in to work until 3:00 today, it's so nice to not have to be rushing around this morning!  I might even get a little craft time in later, we shall see!

Well today is my last post as a guest DT member for the Dare to be Sassy Thursday challenge!
The DT have decided to do a Christmas challenge on the last Thursday of every month, to hopefully give you a head-start on next year's Christmas cards.  What a great idea, huh?  I had a LOT of fun being a guest designer for Sassy Studio the past 2 months - come back tomorrow to see my final guest DT post showing my card using the freebie posted at the Sassy Studio group on PaperCraftPlanet.  :)

I also made a card for the following challenges:

and

I used this adorable Jellypark pirate boy image, colored with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits and SU! markers.  I cropped and mounted on SU! cardstock/DP.  The map is an old clear unmounted stamp I had in my stash - sorry I don't have any idea who the manufacturer is (if you know, leave a comment and I'll add it in - thanks!).  Button is from my stash.

Have a fabulous day!  Peace.

DT news, TI and ATS... plus a note about STEALING.

STEALING
IS
WRONG!!!

Do I have your attention?  Most of you know that I run an ATC challenge blog called Wicked Wednesdays.  I have been lucky enough to get to know several artists through the Internet, e-mails, blog posts, etc.  Some of them I even consider friends.  So I felt like I had to address this issue that affects so many of my kindred spirits.  Tomorrow's post on my challenge blog will be addressing this issue, too.  It first came to my attention when we realized there was at least one blogger who was entering my challenges using images from our sponsors - but she did not purchase these images and they were poor copies of the originals (quite likely traced).  Furthermore, her blog was written in Russian and translation had been disabled.  Because of these things, I will be requiring entrants to my challenge to either have their posts done in English or at the very least, to have the translation option available AND I will reserve the right to remove any entries that are obviously created with stolen images/artwork.

On that note, please check out this post from my artist friend Chris of CS Designs - Piece of Our Heart.
***************************************
Moving on - I am happy to announce that after serving as December 2011 and January 2012 Guest Designer at Art With No Boundaries, I've accepted the offer of a full-time Design Team position with them!  I'm super excited to join this amazing, creative team.  We are currently running an "Express Yourself" challenge, which you can find here.  Please check out the post and consider joining in!

Here are my creations - for my first card I printed the paper doll image out twice, fussy-cutting her and spraying both her and the sentiment with Silver Foil Smooch Spritz.  I used DP from 7Gypsies and added some ribbon from my stash along the side of the card:

When I was a kid, I LOVED paper dolls.  I still do.  But some of my fondest memories are of going to the grocery store with my mom, and being allowed to choose a book of paper dolls from the "book/toy aisle".  That night, when I went to bed, my mom would painstakingly cut out each paper doll and every outfit.  When I woke up in the morning, my paper dolls were perfectly cut out and waiting to be played with.  These are the memories that make my heart swell with love for my mom.  It's the simple things, you know?

Next is a tag/bookmark using the 3rd fussy-cut paper doll image that I already had ready and waiting to be used, along with a partial cut-out of one of the sentiments:
Again, it's all sprayed with Silver Foil Smooch Spritz - I just love the look it gives.

And last is one more card:
For this one, I printed the paper dolls tiny to use as embellishments.  I kept the focus on the sentiment, I love this sentiment.  :)  Cardstock and ribbon are from Stampin' Up!
.............................................
Next, I haven't played along in a while with the Tiddler Inkers, so I had to get my butt moving and make something for the:

I love how this came out - I printed the images directly on colored cardstock, used the text as the background, roughing up the edges and dragging it through a black ink pad.  I then fussy cut the flowers and adhered them with foam pop-up dots.  I like the simple addition of the ribbon.

Next is my card for the:

I colored with Prismacolor markers and used cardstock, buttons, and rub-on sentiments from Stampin' Up!

Have a great day!  Peace.

Simon Says Stamp

WOO HOO - the Patriots are going to the Super Bowl!  :)  It's so much fun watching football, and it's even more fun when your team wins!  LOL

I spent most of the weekend making cards and ATC's - today's card is one of my favorites!  I dug out some old DP and matching felt flowers/ribbon from SU! to play along in the:

Card Makin' Mamas Challenge - Something Old

and I followed the sketch for the:

I used an image from A Day for Daisies, colored with Prismacolor colored pencils and mineral spirits.  Cardstock, DP, ribbon, glitter, and felt flowers are from Stampin' Up!  Buttons are from my stash.

Hope you all have a great week.  Peace.
