Dashing Through the Snow

Good morning!  Sleepover with the oldest granddaughter, RaeRae, last night - we had a ball. She's almost 7 - she's wicked into gymnastics and dance right now, so she spent the night showing off her cartwheels and headstands and backbends. LOL  We took her out to dinner and then came home and made cards, then watched the Goonies. There's no role I love more than Grammy.  :)

I'd like to enter my card below into the following challenges:

AAA Colourful #23

Simon Says Stamp Monday - Sparkle & Shine

Passion for Markers - Mega Christmas/Add a Sentiment

Creative Knockouts - 'Tis the Season

613 Avenue Create - Anything Goes/Optional Sparkle & Shine

Cupcake Inspirations

I just LOVED the colors on the AAA Colourful color board this month - I entered last week but I wasn't thrilled with the color scheme. You know how you get an idea in your head but then it doesn't come out the way you pictured?  Yeah, like that. So I tried again and I was MUCH happier with the results! I used a mixed media technique for this one - I used the ink smooshing technique on watercolor paper with Distress Oxide Ink, then I used some Distress Oxide Spray. I let it all dry, then I used my Split Snowflake stencil from A Colorful Life Designs (use code JennFan10 for 10% off your entire order at the shop!) and applied more Distress Oxide Ink around the stencil. I applied Aqua Tinsel sparkling embossing powder (Ranger) and heat embossed it. I stamped the sentiment directly on the background with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. I printed out the penguin from the Snow Cute set at Lili of the Valley, colored with Copics and Fun Flock, fussy cut and attached with foam dimensional tape. I added a little snowflake die to finish it off. Peace.

Have a Magical Day!

Good morning! I'm picking up my almost-7-year-old granddaughter, RaeRae, this afternoon for a sleepover tonight. She's the sweetest, kindest, funniest little girl and I am so looking forward to spending time with her! My parents (the great-grandparents) take all 3 girls at once for sleepovers, but I like to take them one at a time so I get one-on-one time with them. They all love to cook with me and spend time in my craft room, and it just makes brings me so much happiness! There's no role I love more than being a Grammy!

I'd like to enter the card below into the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp Monday - Sparkle & Shine

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday - Add a Sentiment

Stamping Sensations - Fairies & Fantasy

Crafter's Cafe - Anything Goes/Optional Use Yellow

613 Avenue Create - Sparkle & Shine

I created my background by blending Distress Oxide Inks on a piece of watercolor paper, then I sprayed it heavily with water and blotted with a paper towel. I used the Unicorn & Rainbow clear stamp set from CC Designs, stamped with Versafine Black and embossed with clear embossing powder. I colored with Copics and lots of clear Stickles for sparkle. I fussy cut and attached her with foam dimensional tape. I stamped the sentiment & hearts directly on the background and finished it off with some rhinestone stickers. Peace.

Magical Holiday Mermaid

One more for today - this one is for the following challenges:

AAA Colourful #23

A Cut Above - Anything Goes with Die Cuts

Cut it Up #346 - Anything Goes with a Die Cut

613 Avenue Create - Anything Goes/Optional Sparkle & Shine

Stamping Sensations - Fairies & Fantasy

I created my background by using Distress Oxide Inks and Sprays on watercolor paper. Once it dried, I then applied more Distress Oxide Ink through my Ocean Stars stencil from A Colorful Life Designs (use code JennFan10 for 10% off the entire store). I stamped the cute little mermaid from Clearly Besotted Stamps with Versafine Black and embossed with clear embossing powder. I colored with Copics and glitter, fussy cut her, and attached her with foam dimensional tape. I die cut the word Magic from a previously distressed piece of watercolor paper. Peace.

happy holidays

Good morning!  Off to one more holiday party this afternoon, but this one is easy. We get pizza and sandwiches and just hang out and enjoy each other. I'm looking forward to it.  I'd like to enter this card below into the following challenges:

Color Hues #123

Wednesday's Creative Inspiration - 'Tis the Season

Christmas Crafts All Year Round - Santa Claus is Coming to Town

Shopping Our Stash - Sweet Embossable You (Wet/Heat or Dry Embossing)

Simon Says Stamp Monday - Sparkle & Shine

My papers are from from my stash - I have SO MUCH Doodlebug Designs paper and I'm making myself use it up before I buy more!  LOL  I kept this one pretty clean and simple, which is actually a challenge for me. I stamped the image from the Mama Elephant STAMPtember Exclusive Holiday Snowglobe set at Simon Says Stamp with Versafine Black and embossed with clear embossing powder. I colored with Copics and Fluffy Stuff, then fussy cut it and attached with foam dimensional tape. I added some pink & green rhinestone stickers for sparkle. Peace.

My papers are from Doodlebug Designs - I have been forcing myself to use up the last of my old 6x6 paper pads before I purchase any more! It's been fun combining the different ones to see what I can use together - I do love a challenge! I printed out the (old!) images from CC Designs and colored with Copics. I fussy cut and attached them with foam dimensional tape. I added a sentiment sticker from SRM Stickers and some red pearl stickers. Peace.

AllSorts #839 - Anything Goes/Optional Create a Scene

Classic Design Challenge - Anything Goes/Optional Make it Merry

Make My Monday #267 - Make a CAS Quickie Christmas Card

My papers are from Doodlebug Designs. I printed out Frosty Hugs from Sweet November Stamps, colored with Copics, and die cut with a deckled edge circle die. I sponged black ink around the edges and attached with foam dimensional tape. I die cut the "hugs" sentiment, using a fine point glue tip to attach to the circle. I added some rhinestone stickers to finish it off. Peace.

Out of Chaos Comes Creativity

Happy Boxing Day! I'm so happy to have nothing to do today other than spend the day in my craft room! I'm making chicken piccata for dinner, one of my favorites, so it's a good day! I'd like to enter the card below into the following challenges:

Color Dare #683 (I used red, orange, yellow)

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday - Add a Sentiment

Crafter's Cafe - Anything Goes/Optional Use  Yellow

AllSorts #839 - Anything Goes/Optional Create a Scene

Shopping Our Stash #563 - My Sweet Embossable You (Dry or Heat Embossing/Powder)

This was fun to make - I used a piece of watercolor paper and blended Distress Oxide Inks in Candied Apple Red, Carved Pumpkin, Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed all over it, then heavily spritzed with water and blotted with a paper towel. I stamped my images from a stamp set I haven't used in a while from Visible Image (Creative Chaos) with Versafine Black and embossed with clear embossing powder. I added a few black gemstone stickers. Peace.
