Good morning! Sleepover with the oldest granddaughter, RaeRae, last night - we had a ball. She's almost 7 - she's wicked into gymnastics and dance right now, so she spent the night showing off her cartwheels and headstands and backbends. LOL We took her out to dinner and then came home and made cards, then watched the Goonies. There's no role I love more than Grammy. :)
I'd like to enter my card below into the following challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Monday - Sparkle & Shine
Passion for Markers - Mega Christmas/Add a Sentiment
Creative Knockouts - 'Tis the Season
613 Avenue Create - Anything Goes/Optional Sparkle & Shine
I just LOVED the colors on the AAA Colourful color board this month - I entered last week but I wasn't thrilled with the color scheme. You know how you get an idea in your head but then it doesn't come out the way you pictured? Yeah, like that. So I tried again and I was MUCH happier with the results! I used a mixed media technique for this one - I used the ink smooshing technique on watercolor paper with Distress Oxide Ink, then I used some Distress Oxide Spray. I let it all dry, then I used my Split Snowflake stencil from A Colorful Life Designs (use code JennFan10 for 10% off your entire order at the shop!) and applied more Distress Oxide Ink around the stencil. I applied Aqua Tinsel sparkling embossing powder (Ranger) and heat embossed it. I stamped the sentiment directly on the background with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. I printed out the penguin from the Snow Cute set at Lili of the Valley, colored with Copics and Fun Flock, fussy cut and attached with foam dimensional tape. I added a little snowflake die to finish it off. Peace.
