Dilly Beans, Waste Not Wednesday, & Outlawz

Good morning!  This was a strange week, wasn't it?  For those of us in the US who had a holiday smack-dab in the middle of the week, it just feels weird!  LOL  Well, it is Friday, so we have a new challenge for you over at:

I had a pocket that I had saved from a pair of jeans that were being thrown away, so I decided to use that.  I glued it to the back of a Smash Book that I'm putting together for my daughter's BFF, my 2nd daughter Missy.  I printed out the Posies from Dilly Beans, and the butterfly, colored and fussy-cut them all, and applied with liquid glue.  I printed out "Ring around the rosie, pocket full of posies" and outlined it with Stickles.  By the way, the pocket is functional - I saved the lining so that's what is adhered to the page, you can actually put stuff into the pocket although I wouldn't put anything too heavy in there.

My sweet owl image is from Dilly Beans, and I added some pink rick rack and buttons.  Simple, but I like it.  Her eyes are outlined in Stickles.

Kenny K's Krafty Krew

I've been fighting a damn migraine for four days off and on - strange, they don't usually come like this for me.  It's usually full-blown migraine for a day and then a "hangover" feeling for a day and then I'm fine.  This is weird - I'll be fine for hours and then BAM!  It hits me, hard.  I hope this is the end of it, as I do feel fine now.  Anyway, managed to get this made today for the:

I used one of Kenny's freebies, a Golfer.  Colored him with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits and paired him with Crate Paper (Toy Box) and some star brads, along with a sticker sentiment from SRM Stickers.

The Outlawz - 3 challenges, Party Time Tuesday, & TGF Retro Fresh

Soooooo there is a big party going on at The Outlawz Challenges 2000 Member Party, and today I've got cards for 3 of the current challenges!  My first one is for:

The Outlawz - CAS Summer

The challenge was to make a CAS (Clean and Simple) card showing the season it is where you are from.  I used California Girl from Saturated Canary cuz, well, I just moved to California!  LOL   It's Summer here, and I think this card shows it.  DP is from My Mind's Eye.

I am using red, white, and blue for the USA.  I used The Outlawz freebie posted by MayzyArt Digi Stamps - isn't she fabulous?  She's colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  DP is from Stampin' Up!  Sentiment is from Dilly Bans and the charm is from a box of charms I bought from JoAnn's.

Cheerful Stamp Pad, Simon Says Stamp, & Saturated Canary

I used the rick rack to cover up dots that were other colors so the card would stay red, white, and blue.  Pretty clever, eh?  hee hee

Well, I hope you're all enjoying your long weekend!  My hubby is heading to his first Red Sox game here in California - they are playing in Oakland.  Tickets here are so much cheaper than back East - like 4 tickets here cost less than one ticket there.  LOL  He's going with 3 friends, one of whom is also a Red Sox fan (thankfully).  Tomorrow night is the fireworks in our town, so I'm hoping we can see them from our yard.  Another thing I love about it here - no mosquitoes!!!!  :)

Doodle Garden - First Challenge!

Hi everyone!  I know I announced a little while ago that I joined the brand new Doodle Garden DT, and now we are having our very first challenge!

I made an art journal page using Little Marina, Fancy Striped Fish, and Little Seahorse.  Sentiment is from TLC.  I used a stencil for my background along with acrylic paints.  We hope you'll join our Under the Sea challenge and help us start the fun at The Doodle Garden!

I love playing in my art journal - this book started out as a plain old hardcover journal, now it won't shut.  LOL  See how much lovin' it's got?

Yup, those pages have been Gesso'd, painted, stamped, spritzed, colored, inked, sponged, stenciled, embossed, and Mod Podged.  PHEW!  And I just love it.  I love looking through it and knowing it's just for me.  Never really caring if I "screw up" - I just re-Gesso or paint over the boo-boo!  I hope you all have something like this in your art area, something just for you, that makes you smile and makes you feel good.  You deserve it.  :)
