Dilly Beans & All That Scraps

Happy Friday!  So yesterday, after work, I went out shopping and to dinner with my very dear friend Linda (from Behind My Red Door).  We had a wonderful time, but it was my first "goodbye" and it was hard.  :(  We both cried when she dropped me off.  There are very few things I'm really going to miss deeply when I leave, but Linda is one of them.  Linda is one of those people I can just say anything to - she gets me.  Plain and simple.  I never have to be anything but me - which is good, cuz that's who I always am.  LOL  Thank goodness for the Internet.  I'm going to visit gram this morning, then I have a bunch of errands to run.  I'm so glad I have the day off today, I hate doing errands on weekends.

We have a new challenge for you today at:

I used Amalia's Daisy Framed, colored with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits.  DP is from My Mind's Eye, ribbon is from SU!  Sentiment is from Just Some Lines.

This next card is for the:

and

I used one of the newer digi images from All That Scraps, Umbrella Lula, printed on Kraft cardstock and colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits and Prismacolor markers.  DP is from My Mind's Eye (hello my name is Jenn and I'm a paper addict....).
Peace.

Whimsie Doodles & Fun with ATC's

OK peeps, it's official - Cass takes her GED test on May 1 & May 3, and Jeremy's flying home on May 1.  So that means we should be packed up and on the road by May 5/6 at the latest.  That is, like, less than 3 weeks away.  *GULP*  LOL  I am so glad I'm working next week, it keeps me preoccupied and unable to start freaking out.  That can wait at least another week.  hee hee  Besides the thoughts of leaving friends/family, I am most anxious about packing up my crafting stuff and not being able to play with it again for at least a week.  When we unpack, trust me when I tell you that the craft stuff gets set up before I even put away clothes or kitchen stuff.  I just NEED to - it's like my therapy to be able to go sit and color.  It's so simple, but so necessary, you know?  Like my books.  No one touches my books when we move, and they all know it.  LOL  I have my beloved bookcase, and all of my books are arranged alphabetically by author, then by title.  I pack them that way and then unpack them that way - and I don't feel "right" until they are all unpacked and back in their alphabetical order on my bookshelf.  And I wonder where my daughter gets her OCD from.... HMPH.  ;)

I'm sure I'm going to be chatty for the next few weeks, so bear with me or skip through to the good stuff - here we go, first up is my card for the:

I used Cotton Candy Leah, coloring my spotlight piece with Prismacolor markers and pink Fun Flock.  DP is from My Mind's Eye, ribbon tags are scraps from my stash.  "Sweet" sentiment is from Digi Doodle Shop.

And next up is an ATC that I made for the:

The fabulous Sara Sherlock from Folded Paper Printed Pixels chose my name as a winner for a free digi from her shop just for leaving a thank-you comment on her very generous freebie post.  She's such a sweetie and I wanted her to see what I did with the image that I chose, Steampunk Butterfly.  I colored with some watered-down Perfect Pearls in silver, then added some metal brads.  DP is from My Mind's Eye - sentiment is a sticker from my stash.
Peace.

Wicked Wednesday & Stuff

Heyyyyy -good morning!  So I have a question for you today - you might laugh at me, but I'm a bit of a spelling freak.  Spelling errors drive me bonkers - especially when I see them made on digital stamps/sentiments, because I just can't bring myself to use them no matter how pretty they are or how much I like the rest of the image (unless I can somehow mask or block out the error).  LOL  So my question for you is - would you notify the artist if you noticed such an error?  Or - as an artist- would you WANT to be notified of such an error?  The mistake that seems to be made the most is using the word "your" when they really mean "you're" (and others like this including there, their, and they're...). I usually just edit it myself with a black pen after it's printed, but sometimes it's noticeable and looks funny, you know?  So what do you think?  Let the artist know or zip your lip and use your felt-tip black pen?  hee hee

We have a new challenge for you over at:

Our sponsor this week is the fabulous JUST SOME LINES - head on over to the challenge blog to see the rest of the DT's creations and to link up.

Tuesday? Yes - Tuesday.

It was a holiday here in Massachusetts yesterday - Patriot's Day - so I'm all screwed up and keep thinking today is Monday!  But it's not, it's Tuesday.  So happy Tuesday!  LOL

Yesterday was just beautiful - it was so nice to open the windows and let the fresh air into the house.  I even sat outside for a bit, it was wonderful.  I spent most of the day trying to get a head start on some of the stuff I'll need to have ready for when I'm moving.  I feel pretty accomplished and after the next weekend or two, that's it.  It's out of my hands.  LOL  I tend to get anxiety over this stuff, but I'm forcing myself to take it easy - I'm working on what I can, and the world won't end if I don't get everything done anyway. *sigh*  LOL

I did find time to create for a few challenges this weekend, and I had a good time creating.  My first card is for the:

and

I used one of the gorgeous images from CS Designs, New Oceans Sentiment Round, colored with Perfect Pearls and Prismacolor Markers.  I also used lots of glitter and added 2 gray pearl stickers to the starfish.  The background card and the ribbon are spritzed with Silver Foil Smooch Spritz.

My next card is for the

I used a background image from Make it Crafty and the mermaid is from Tiddly Inks.  I colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.

My last card is for:
