Thankful for Sweet Friends

Happy August!  It's my birthday month!  LOL  I'm a Leo and I do it in style - I love my birthday! I must have at least 3 celebrations every year! :) My bff Tim is coming over this weekend to have lobsters with my hubby and me, then another friend is taking me out to dinner later in the week, and then I have a birthday cookout planned for the following Saturday!  I told ya - I LOVE MY BIRTHDAY!  No matter how old I am!  hee hee Happy birthday to my fellow August babies!

So - we have a new challenge at the All Dressed Up FB group for August!

Theme is Favorite Time of Year!

Fall/Autumn is definitely my favorite time of year. Halloween is my favorite holiday, but I make TONS of Halloween cards and I wanted to focus on the actual season instead of the holiday for this one. I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Passion for Markers - Die Cuts and/or Punches

A Place to Start - Anything Goes/Optional Use Vellum

Crafts Galore Encore - Anything Goes

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday - Anything Goes

Krafty Chicks - Anything Goes

Art Impressions #409 - Stitches or Scalloped Edges

I really enjoyed the process of making this card!  I don't use embossing folders very often, but I had this idea in my head for this one and it came out exactly as I pictured (what a relief!). I used a piece of watercolor paper to run through the wood-grain embossing folder, then dragged my Scorched Timber Distress Ink pad over it. I used scraps of preciously distressed pieces of cardstock to diecut my Autumn leaves from (always save those scraps!). I printed Autumn Wreath from All Dressed Up, colored her with Copics and fussy cut her before attaching with foam dimensional tape.  I then used another piece of watercolor paper to die cut a decorative stitched edge circle from, distressed it with more of the Scorched Timber ink and stamped/embossed the sentiment on it in white. Peace.
