Grimm's Grimmest, Fun with ATC's, & Wicked Wednesday Reminder

Sorry for the late post today - I went out to dinner with a friend last night, and I think I got food poisoning.  :(  OMG - I have been awake since 3:30 a.m. and have spent most of that time in the bathroom.  Good Lord.  So let me just post quick so I don't miss deadlines here!

For the:

and

I made an art journal page and based it on Grimm's "The Hare and the Hedgehog."  When I stumbled across this "fairy tale" I knew it would be perfect for this challenge.  Any fairy tale that ends with a bloody, dead rabbit has to be creepy enough - even WITH the cute hedgehogs.  LOL  My hedgehogs are from Dilly Beans (I just flipped him to get the reverse image), the rabbit was a freebie from Free Vintage Digi Images.

Thankfully, I did my post last night for the:

My first ATC uses Amalia Easter Bunny from Dilly Beans.  I am also linking this one up to the:

Fun with ATC's - Rabbits

I have a fun little tutorial on the challenge blog, if you'd like to check it out.  Hope you all feel better than I do today!  I'm heading back to my couch.  xo  Peace.

WICKIDZ Preview Part 2, TOF Guest Designer, Dilly Beans, & Digital Tuesday

WOO HOO Day 2 of the Beyond the Burtonesque Preview of the fantastically creepy Simply Betty WICKIDZ digi stamps!

First up today is Boris, I printed him on Kraft cardstock and cut a square around him, roughing up the edges and dragging through black ink.  I then printed a sentiment from Dilly Beans, and mounted it all onto a Kraft cardstock base that had been stamped with a splotchy background stamp:

Next we have Margie, I printed her onto white cardstock twice, punching out and coloring the highlighted portion and matting onto a slightly larger circle.  Everything is spritzed lightly with Silver Foil Smooch Spritz and the white cardstock was dragged through a purple ink pad:

And last is Winnie, my personal favorite out of all 6 images!  LOL  I colored Winnie with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits.  I used some clear embossing powder on the edges of the card and added some pearl stickers and the sentiment that I just printed in a word processing program.  Cardstock & heart punch from Stampin' Up!:
Don't forget to leave a comment and visit the other blogs - there will be a prize hidden somewhere along the way!  :)

OK so if it wasn't exciting ENOUGH being a guest designer for Simply Betty, I also won a guest spot at The Octopode Factory, and this is my week!  So I'm psyched to be sharing my card for you today as a guest designer for:

The Octopode Factory Challenge - Bling it Up!

I used Imelda the Fortune Teller for both of my cards, colored with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits and lots of glitter.  I also added gemstone stickers for additional bling.  My DP on the 2nd card is a very old one from Stampin' Up!  Sentiment is from Dilly Beans.

We have a new challenge for you at:

I love Megan's images so very much and this theme was right up my alley.  I decided to make one card and one ATC, here's my card using the awesome Sugar Skulls & Flowers image, printed once on the purple cardstock and then again on Kraft slightly smaller, colored with Prismacolor markers and Stickles, the teeth were colored with a Gelly Roll Glitter Pen:

And here's my ATC, using Sugar Skull & Flowers Framed printed on Kraft cardstock and colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits, Stickles, and a white gel pen:

I would also like to enter this into the:

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!  :)
Peace.

Simply Betty WICKIDZ Preview & Other Pretty Stuff

I was sooooo excited to win a guest spot on the Beyond the Burtonesque Challenge Blog, and even MORE excited when I was contacted by Betty from Simply Betty Stamps and asked if I'd like to participate in the preview for her new WICKIDZ line!  Here are the first 3 stamps - be sure to come back tomorrow to see the remaining 3.  Let's start off with Damien - I cut a large yellow circle out of cardstock to mat behind him like a full moon:

I printed out the quote in a word processing program and just cut it out in pieces.

This next one uses Malice, sentiment is from Dilly Beans:

And last is Petunia - I used Crackle stuff on the window panes so they would appear broken, it's much more effective in real life but if you look close you should be able to see it:

Sentiment here is also from Dilly Beans.  My coloring was done with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits.  Cardstock & DP are from SU!

Make sure you leave a comment here, too, as there will be a random prize draw for MALICE from all comments on all of the preview blogs!  Have fun!

I am  happy to tell you that I don't seem to be getting the full-blown sickies like Cass had!  I'm so glad today is Thursday, regardless.  I have tomorrow off - have to drop my car off to get fixed and so I'll be stuck home with nothing to do but... craft!  Sounds like my kinda day!

I used "Day of the Dead Frida" from Dilly Beans, colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits and Prismacolor markers.  Cardstock is from SU!

Next - I made a tag for the:

My tag was made using the "Flowers in Bottles" image from A Day for Daisies, colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  My tag was sprayed with Jet Black Smooch Spritz - sentiment is from Dilly Beans.

My last card is for:

I used Dorothy and Butterflies from The Octopode Factory, colored with Prismacolor markers.  DP and ribbon are from my stash.

Some Odd Girl & Wicked Wednesday ATC

Blah - my girl got me sick!  I have to go to work today, as one of my co-workers has the day off and that would leave my other co-worker in a lurch.  So I'll suck it up.  LOL  I gave my notice yesterday, April 26 will be my last day!  Cass will take her GED test the first week in May and then we'll hit the road.  So excited.  Anyway, I have very little energy to chat right now, just having my coffee and laying on the couch until I have to get ready for work!  I have a couple things for you today, first is my card for the:

I used Spunky Sprite, colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits and Prismacolor markers.

All That Scraps & Digi My World

Cass has been sick the last 2 days, poor kid.  I thought it was allergies but it turns out she's just got a bad cold, complete with headache, sore throat, stuffy nose... so anyway, she's already reached her limit of absences for the year and she's been going to Saturday school to make up her absences from LAST year.  Then Jeremy called to tell us he signed a lease on a house yesterday - so after much thinking, deliberating, discussing... the bottom line is that today I'm going to look into Cass getting her GED.  If she does this, she'll be able to start college in the Fall instead of doing her senior year of high school at a new school across the country (or possibly having to stay back because of absences and start over as a JUNIOR!).  She feels much better about this and I know how smart she is, and how much she's looking forward to college - I would NEVER let her do this if I thought she was just "quitting" - but I can't find one negative consequence to doing this.  So I feel good about this decision and it also means that we'll head to California earlier than June.  Like probably in about a month.  GULP.  I haven't shared that with anyone yet, as we just kind of came to this decision last night.  But I'm antsy to get out there - and poor Jeremy and Trev now have a house but nothing to put in it.  LOL  They are lucky enough to know people who have offered to give them some pieces of furniture and to borrow others until we get there, so that's good.  So I am going to have to have a chat with my sister, my mom, gram, Richie (Jeremy's dad) and let them know our plans. Wish me luck.  ;)

Well - on to business, right?  :)  First up for today is my cute card for the:

I'm not a big fan of "anything goes" challenges, as I feel they take the CHALLENGE out of the challenge... LOL... but these images are so darn cute, it's still fun to play along.  :)  I used Bunny Lucy, colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits and Prismacolor markers.  Cardstock & DP are from my stash.

And next up - I noticed Mr. Linky is already closed but the challenge had said it was open through today, so I will add to the comments section.  :)  I made this for the:

I used Artist Girl, colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits and SU! markers.  Cardstock, DP, and ribbon are from SU!

And I woke up with a sore throat, so keep your fingers crossed that my little angel didn't pass her cold onto me! I'm too busy to get sick!  LOL
Peace.

Happy Monday Again!

Hello all!  Cass and I made the BEST burgers last night - have you ever made burgers with French's Crunchy Onions?  OMG - all you do is take like a pound of meat, a cup of crushed onions, 3 Tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce, and a couple dashes of garlic powder - mix it up and make burgers.  They are HEAVENLY.

I was a busy girl this weekend, lots to share this week.  First up for today is my card for the:

and

I used the sweet Gothica from Saturated Canary, colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  DP and brads are from Stampin' Up!  Ticket sentiment is from Scribbles by Sandy.

Next- the following is for:

and

I used Country Anya from The Greeting Farm (digi image) and a printable peach template from Elizabeth Dulemba Coloring Pages.  DP is from Authentique - ribbon is from my stash.

This is my last week posting as part of the DT for Art With No Boundaries, challenge blog for CS Designs.  I had to give up a few commitments as I prepare for my chaotic life of packing and moving over the next few months!  I hope to be back later in the Summer, though!  Our challenge is Fashionista - use something from your sewing box along with some green:

I used the fabulous Plie, along with a sentiment from Tiddly Inks, and the ribbon is my bit from my sewing box (I don't have much of a sewing box...I am not even sure I have a needle and thread... hee hee).  DP and ribbon are from Stampin' Up!

Peace.

Smudgy Antics, Corrosive Challenge, WW Reminder & JSL New Challenge

I have the best daughter in the world.  Well, I have the best KIDS in the world, but today my story is about my girl.  :)  She just makes me so proud.  With everything we've been through in the past couple of years, she's matured so much.  We visited my mom yesterday and while we were talking to her, I just couldn't help but think how wonderful this kid is and how much I love her.  I love listening to her talk about her life, her friends, her goals - she's got a good head on her shoulders and I am excited for her future.  She's lucky I love her so much, last night she stayed out until midnight and of course I can't sleep when she's not home.  LOL  I woke up with a bit of a headache this morning - hope it goes away by the time we have to go to Elianna's party today.  So glad I made my baked mac n' cheese yesterday!

Soooo - I won a $5 credit at the awesome Smeared Ink store for last week's Smudgy Antics challenge, and I got this ridiculously cool digi stamp set "Killer Bo Peep" and made this fun card for the:

Smudgy Antics - Level Up (layers/dimension)
and

The Corrosive Challenge - Things are looking GRIMM

I fussy-cut everything out, and applied the images in layers to make them pop, I used foam dimensional dots on the fence.
