Graduation & Challenges!

Last night, my oldest child graduated from high school.  It was a momentous occasion and we are just so stinkin' proud of him - here are a few pics from the evening:

Trev, the happy grad  :)

Trevor got an award entitled "the Great Debater" which cracked me up.  When I graduated from college a few short months before I turned 30, my best friend gave me the Dr. Seuss book "Oh The Places You'll Go" - I am going to have Trev read it today, because I think everything it says is true.  "You'll get mixed up, of course, as you already know. You'll get mixed up with many strange birds as you go. So be sure when you step. Step with care and great tact and remember that Life's a Great Balancing Act. Just never forget to be dexterous and deft. And never mix up your right foot with your left."

I was a busy, busy girl yesterday and made these 3 cards for challenges that needed to be posted by today - so here goes!  :)  First up is my card for the:

I used the adorable digi image "Halloween Shedevil" from TGF, colored with Prismacolor markers and Prismacolor pencils with mineral spirits.  DP is from SU! and 7Gypsies.  Ribbon, glitter, black brads and gemstone brads from SU!  Buttons are from my stash.

I printed out a large copy of the Big Bloom image and colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  DP is from My Mind's Eye, buttons are from foof-a-la.  This was simple, but I love the way it came out, and I am also entering it into the challenge Flower Power at A Spoon Full of Sugar.

And last is my card for the:
CraftyCatz Challenge - use pink and green

I used one of my adorable images from Just Some Lines called Emo Angel 6, colored in with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  Cardstock, DP, glitter and ribbon are from SU!  Button is from foof-a-la.

While I'm here, if you've gotten this far, would you please do me a favor?  An old friend of mine had a heart attack last Saturday night - she's only 38 years old and she's in a coma, it's not looking good.  Please pray for peace for her family as they make what is probably the hardest decision of their lives.  Please also keep my nana in your prayers - she was diagnosed with cancer the other day and will be having surgery tomorrow.  She's one tough old lady, and I'm confident she'll get through this - but a few extra prayers couldn't hurt.  Thank you, my friends.
Peace.
