Happy 7th birthday to my kind, sweet, funny, axolotl-loving granddaughter, Raeana - AKA RaeRae - the one who made me a Grammy! This kid is amazing, when she sets her mind to something she follows through with determination and commitment. She makes me so proud of her for so many reasons. When she was opening her gifts last weekend, she opened this card and said "I know this is from Grammy, because she makes the BEST cards!". I had no idea she appreciated my artwork so much and it just made my day! :)
I'd like to enter RaeRae's birthday card into the following challenges:
Double D - Birthdays (Happy 10 Years to Double D!!!!)
Addicted to Stamps #508 - Birthdays
Time Out #304 - All That Glitters
Cut it Up #347 - Favorite Dies (this deckled edge circle die is one of my favorite nesting dies!)
Moving Along with the Times #185 - Use Stencils and/or Dies
I had so much fun getting super inky with this card! I used Picked Raspberry and Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide Inks for the background. I used a polka dot stencil on the deckled edge circle die and added some Mica Spray Stain to the die cut "7". I printed out this adorable axolotl from the Crafty Bels shop, colored with Copics and Stickles, fussy cut, and attached with foam dimensional tape. I outlined both sets of sunglasses with Dazzling Diamonds glitter. Sentiment is a dig from Polkadoodles. I had the perfect heart sunglasses die cut from Scrapbook.com in my stash, then I finished off with some rhinestone brads in the corners. Peace.

Sweet! Great oxide colors and adorable image. I seriously love that deckle edge circle die. Thanks for sharing with the Double D, Birthday Challenge.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet story behind this card—being told you make ‘the BEST cards’ is the ultimate compliment! 💕 Your inky background is fabulous, and that deckled circle with the die-cut 7 really draws the eye. The axolotl is absolutely adorable and perfect for a 7-year-old birthday. Thanks so much for sharing this special project with us at Cut It Up!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a fun and fabulous card!

Isn't if fun when the kids appreciate your card making skills. My great grandson celebrated his 7th birthday Saturday and I made a Ferris wheel but it was the punny sentiment that got him. This is perfect for your granddaughter, full of color and shine and an axolotl. Thanks for sharing your card with us at Time Out.
