Creative Inspiration #25 - Anything Goes

Just Us Girls #770 - Word Week

I created my background by blending Candied Apple Distress Oxide ink through my Joined Roses stencil from A Colorful Life Designs, then heavily misting with water and blotting with a paper towel.  I stamped the unicorn from the Beautiful Unicorn stamp set from Unity Stamps directly onto the background with Versafine Black and embossed with clear embossing powder. I stamped the "Beautiful" the same way, and the "YOU ARE" on a little piece of scrap cardstock cut it out and attached with foam dimensional tape. I sponged the edges in black to finish it off. Peace.

Polkadoodles - Slider Cards!

Hi everyone!  We have some more inspiration for you at the Polkadoodles Challenge blog!

Come play along for your chance to win a $50 gift certificate OR one of 3 $10 gift certificates!

I didn't have a lot of experience with slider cards, so I created 2 different kinds. Here are my creations for this week:

For this one, I made a slider card where you can just slide the bunny across the card's sentiment. I used digi papers from the Spring Into Easter Set 2  paper pack for the background, and printed the sentiment from the Birthday Sentiments and Greetings set onto the inserted paper. I printed out Party Balloon Bunny and colored with alcohol markers (some Fluffy Stuff on her tail) then fussy cut before attaching her to the slider piece.

And for this next one, I created a slider card where you pull the insert out from the top to see the message inside. I used papers from the Spring Into Easter set 2 pack to create the background. I then printed In the Nest, colored with alcohol markers, fussy cut and attached to the die-cut sentiment from the Spring Into Easter Messages set.

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday - Sweet Treats

Outlawz Main Challenge

Outlawz Festive Friday - Easter

Thank you!   Peace.

It's the little things...

Good morning - popping in to enter the card below into the following challenges:

Lindy's Creative Gangs FB April Challenge

Lil Patch of Crafty Friends - Anything Goes

C.R.A.F.T. Challenge - Anything Goes/Spring/Easter

Crafty Catz - Anything Goes

I used my Hexagon Blocks 3D embossing folder from Altenew on watercolor paper. I then painted my Lindy's Magicals in Yellow Jang Yellow and Moray Eel Mint (from the Under the Sea collections) in stripes across it.  I then dragged my black ink pad lightly across the surface to grab the raised parts. I hand cut a hexagon shape from the same piece of watercolor paper, attached it with foam dimensional tape and then attached the bee (Visible Image Stamps), which I had colored with Copics and glitter and fussy cut, with more foam dimensional tape. Peace.

Loving Ourselves

Hubby took me on a little mini road trip, so I'm posting from the road.  We arrived in Pennsylvania yesterday and this morning we are headed to North Carolina.  We're going to check out the Hiddenite Emerald Mine tomorrow, I'm super exited.  I really needed to get away and try to relax, my husband is just so thoughtful and good to me.  I'm a lucky girl.

So I'd like to enter the card below into the following challenges today:

Stencil Fun - AG/Optional Patterns

AllSorts #820 - AG/Optional Spring Flowers

As You Like It - Cute or Floral (and why)

So I think there's a time and place for both!  I normally go with cute, but I just love the beautiful floral look of this stencil and you can't always use a cute card! So today I'm picking floral because it lends a pretty, feminine flair to your creations.

Let's Craft & Create #218 - AG + Add Flowers

Color Hues #107

I first distressed a piece of watercolor paper with Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide ink, spritzed with water and let dry.  I then applied Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink through my Joined Roses stencil from A Colorful Life Designs (use code JennFan10 for 10% off your entire purchase at the store) - I embossed the roses with Ranger's Aqua Tinsel embossing powder - I like how the powder didn't stick to all of the roses, giving it additional dimension.  I stamped the sentiment on a piece of white cardstock, used a die cut to cut it out, and sprayed some Mica Spray Stains on it. I matted the whole thing on a piece of Taken with Teal cardstock from SU! Peace.

Enjoy Summer

I was thrilled to be asked to be a guest designer for the

Penny's Paper Crafty Challenge

The theme is always Anything Goes

The sponsor for this challenge is Mirtillamente Stamps, and I used the Enjoy Summer digi image, colored with Copics and glitter. I traced a circle around most of the image and left a few pieces to fussy cut. I attached it to my DP from Crafter's Companion with foam dimensional tape, then layered some die cut leaves behind it.

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:

A Cut Above - Anything Goes (with die cuts)

First Cup Challenge #1 - Anything Drink Related Goes

Crafty Catz - Anything Goes

Pammie's Inky Pinkies - Anything Goes

Peace.

Joined Roses tag - A Colorful Life Designs

March was the worst month of my life, and I dropped the ball on posting my March stencil projects from the new release at A Colorful Life Designs.  I'm really struggling with the depth of this grief, but I'm trying to keep myself going by doing the things that bring me joy. It's not easy, though. I often feel like curling up in a ball in bed and just sobbing my heart out, but I know that won't help. So here I am, crafting and posting as if the world is the same. As if I didn't lose a grandbaby 3 weeks ago. Sigh.  It's just not fair.

Anyway, I'd like to enter this tag into the following challenges:

SSS Monday - Tag It

Daisy Chain Challenge - Not Square

Pammie's Inky Pinkies - Anything Goes

A Place to Start - AG/Optional Black, White, and Red

Crafty Calendar - Feminine

I found this tag in my stash, so I covered it with red & black alcohol inks, then applied the Joined Roses Stencil (use code JennFan10 for 10% off your entire purchase at the shop) through it with texture paste. I let that dry and then used a paint brush to color the paste silver with Mica Spray Stain.  I added a little text sticker and tied some pretty ribbons through the tag. Peace.

I drew the grass at her feet with the Grass Green Copic marker and colored her with Copics.  I die cut a little sun for the corner and added a "Smile" sticker sentiment. Peace.

Happy Sunday! I slept super late today and it felt so good. Now I'm going to spend a lazy day in my craft room.  I'd like to enter the card below into the following challenges:

I created my background by blending Distress Oxide Ink through my Broken Lines stencil from A Colorful Life Designs (April release) on watercolor paper, which totally reminded me of bamboo the minute I saw it. You can use code JennFan10 for 10% off at the A Colorful Life Designs shop.  I then used several shades of green Distress Oxide inks blended on another piece of watercolor paper, spritzed with water and let dry before die-cutting the leaves. Panda is a digi from Lili of the Valley, colored with Copics and fussy cut, then attached with foam dimensional tape. I sponged some green ink around the top & bottom edges of the card, and finished off with a "just because" text sticker from a Tim Holtz sticker book. Peace.

Popping in again to enter the card below into the following challenges:

I Love ProMarkers - Under the Sea/Anything Goes

Just Us Girls - Die Week/No Flowers

Crafty Catz - Anything Goes

Creative Knockouts - Embossing Delight

I created my background by blending Dusty Concord, Villainous Potion, and Mermaid Lagoon on watercolor paper.  I then used half of the paper for the background, spritzing water all over it and blotting with a paper towel.  I cut my die cuts from the other half - heavily embossing with clear embossing powder in several layers to create dimension and depth.  The seahorse and sand dollar etched dies are like stencils, too - it's a set from Spellbinders and you can find that here.  I then added some Stickles to the sand dollar. Peace.

currently attempting

I was thrilled to be crowned the Queen of Snark for the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers in February! LOL  I was invited to be the guest designer for April's challenge, theme is Manly!

I created my background by blending some inks on watercolor paper and then applying Black Soot Distress ink through a stencil.  I stamped the sentiment directly on the background and stamped the little guy (both stamps from the Roadies 36 set at Ink Road Stamps) with Versafine Black and embossed with clear embossing powder. I colored him with alcohol markers, fussy cut him and attached him to the card base inside the hole I punched into the background paper.

Deco Fans - A Colorful Life Designs

I feel like I missed the entire month of March.  It was so chaotic that I never had a chance to share most of my creations for the March release at A Colorful Life Designs.  It was one of my favorite releases, so I wanted to make sure to share ASAP!  I would like to enter this first card into the following challenges:

Creative Inspiration - Anything Goes

The Sisterhood of Crafters - Shades of Green

I used the Deco Fans stencil, ink blending a darker shade of green on top of the watercolor paper that I had blended a lighter shade of green all over. I spritzed with water and flicked some green Mica Spray on it, added the die cut "thanks" and some pearl stickers.

.........................................................

I used the same stencil on the cards below, it's so versatile and fun to play with, I love how you can create such different designs with the same stencil:

You can use code JennFan10 for 10% off your entire order at A Colorful Life Designs. Peace.
