Shirleys2Girls & US45

Shirleys2Girls is releasing some funky "Alice-in-Wonderland-inspired" digi images this week, go check it out!
For the Shirleys2Girls challenge this week, we had to use green in our cards. Here is my entry:

I won a challenge at Doodle Palace last week and got to pick 2 free images. When I saw this rocket ship, I just knew I had to pair it with Space Ian from The Greeting Farm! LOL The colors are just gray and blue mostly, with a little red thrown in for the heart on the flag.
Peace.

Spring Fever!

As I was uploading my cards for the challenges I participated in this weekend, I noticed a theme - everything is brightly colored! LOL I soooo have Spring Fever! Bring on the flowers and the butterflies and the ladybugs and all things Spring, I say.

Soooo - here we go!
This card uses an adorable digi monkey image from All That Scraps, along with SU! cardstock in Tempting Turquoise, Green Galore, and Orchid Opulence. Assorted ribbon and dragonfly embellishments.
I was able to use this one for 2 challenges:

Digital Tuesday Challenge - use scallops
Just Us Girls 23 sketch challenge

This adorable creation (if I do say so myself - hee hee) is for the March Delightful Inspiration challenge, where you can grab this cute digi image "Patches" for free up through tomorrow and everyone who plays gets another free image:

The Digi Kitty did a similar challenge where they offered a free digi image to play and then another free digi if you participated in the challenge. This is the new image, Hippo's Flowers, and I used this card for 2 challenges:

The Digi Kitty Spring is Calling and
Crazy4Challenges #27, use paper piercing

And last is my card for the riley & co Tuesday challenge, which was to use the colors red, brown and caramel:

So I'm sure you've noticed I enjoy participating in challenges. I have found literally hundreds of them, and I'm sure there are thousands more I have not yet found. Most of them are run by awesome, friendly, cool folks. I enjoy getting to know fellow card-makers and seeing their work. But I have had some negative experiences, too. I think it stinks when people who run challenges don't do it ethically or fairly. There are a few that I refuse to participate in anymore - I won't publicly humiliate them by naming them here because it's not like they did anything HORRIBLE, but I won't visit their sites or promote them on my blog, that's for sure. For example, one of them I "won" a gift certificate to their store over a month ago but I've yet to see it despite e-mailing them and leaving comments on their blog. Another I noticed the people who "win" (it's not random) are not usually the ones who did the best jobs, but maybe the ones who the blog owner is the most friendly with... things like that. I guess I just don't think that's ethical - and if I'm going to spend an hour creating a card and then promote someone's stamp company or blog on MY blog, they better deserve it. Hmph! ;) Luckily, I find the positive far outweigh the negative and I happily promote the awesome companies that I have come to love and trust and that you will find links to in my sidebar. OK - before I get off my soapbox - hee hee - go here to get a freebie digi image from The Greeting Farm before it's gone!
Peace.

All That Scraps & Little Red Wagon challenges

It pays to enter so many challenges - I've won a few digital images by doing so over the past couple of weeks! Yay me! :) AND I have a surprise coming up next week... let's just say I'm wishing this long winter away and thinkin' SUMMER, baby! You'll see..... *wink wink*

Today's card is for 2 challenges:
All That Scraps - use dots and stripes
Little Red Wagon - use felt

I used an image from the new Spring Sugarplums digi set from All That Scraps, Spring Emma. Paper is from the Sweet Pea designer series paper from SU! Felt flower, ribbon, and brown brads also by SU!
Be back tomorrow with a LOT more. Peace.

Aly's Sunday Challenge 12

I just cannot get enough of these images... yup, it's another Bugaboo Stamps card. This one uses a FREEBIE image that you can get by clicking HERE - isn't she sweet? This card is for Aly's Sunday Challenge 12, which was a sketch challenge:

I love this new SU! designer series background paper, the colors are Taken With Teal and Pumpkin Pie - it's not a combination I would have thought to use on its own, but I think it works so well here! Bugaboo Stamps just released some new Easter images, too - thank goodness this is a pay week for me.... hee hee
Peace.

Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge 45

Soooo - I really stepped out of my comfort zone with this, I used colors that I don't normally use. LOL I gotta tell ya, though, I'm kinda likin' it! :) This is for the Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge 45:

I used Pink Cat Studio's digi image Lily Bee (which I had to buy immediately when I saw her, cuz she reminds me of my little Angel Bumblebee, Meg) - Stampin' Up! cardstocks and inks in Ruby Red, Summer Sun, Lovely Lilac, and Basic Black. Assorted ribbons by SU!
Peace.

Cute Card Thursday Ribbon-Tastic!

So I told you I found that adorable digital stamp site, Bugaboo Stamps, right? Well, I just cannot get enough of these awesome images! So I decided to use some more for another challenge. This card is for the
Cute Card Thursday Challenge: Ribbon-Tastic!

The paper is all SU! Pretty in Pink with coordinating designer series background paper. The ribbons (Pretty in Pink, Old Olive & Elegant Eggplant) are all by SU! also, as well as the punches and glitter. The cute little skull images are from the Bugaboo mini set called.... you guessed it - Cute Skulls! :)

Hope you are all having a great week so far! Peace.

Off With Her Head!

I am EAGERLY awaiting the release of the new Alice in Wonderland movie starring Johnny Depp. I am a huge Johnny Depp fan. So when The Greeting Farm sent out the last newsletter and asked us to create something in anticipation of this movie, I was totally game! Luckily, I had already bought the Signature stamp set from TGF, so I had this cute little Alice stamp ready to be inked up. I used Stampin' Up!'s Queen of Hearts stamp and coordinating background paper as well as Real Red cardstock. I printed out the words "heart" and "Off with her head!" onto Very Vanilla cardstock. The ribbon is assorted ribbons in black, red, and vanilla. I also used SU! red glitter on the hearts on the playing card.

I am also using this bookmark for the Anya Ink Anything But a Card challenge this week:

Hope you all have a great week! Peace.
