Tiddly Inks - Goodbye Summer, Hello Fall & HDH PMS

As much as I love Summer, I am never sad to see it come to an end because I live in New England and the end of Summer means the beginning of Fall.  Apple picking, cider, leaves turning colors, cool and crisp air - HALLOWEEN!  These are just some of the things I love about Fall.  For today, I have a card celebrating this colorful season, for the:

I used Alison the Witch, colored her with my Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits and found some matching DP from SU!  I added some black buttons and orange gemstone stickers - I think it came out pretty cute, it was hard for me not to color her all black for some reason!  LOL

Next up is my creation for this week's:

Haunted Design House Macabre Monday - Psychotic Miss Silver (PMS)

I have been trying to do things other than cards the past couple of months, and it's been fun and makes me feel more creative!  This ornament/tag was made with an image from Tiddly Inks, I printed it on heavy cardstock and then fussy-cut it.  I colored her with black and silver and then sprayed Silver Foil Smooch Spritz all over it.  I then covered it with Mod Podge to make it a little sturdier, what do you think?  Psychotic enough?  hee hee

Have a happy Friday. Peace.

TGF Art Journal, Forever Night, Art With No Boundaries & Card Makin' Mamas

I had a great time again this week with my art journal for:

I printed out some clouds, the sentiment from Tiddly Inks and stamped the devil & angel from TGF onto regular copy paper.  I sponged the background with pink acrylic paint, then sprayed Silver Smooch Spritz all over it.  I colored the girls with Prismacolor pencils, painted the clouds with pink acrylic paint, and used Mod Podge to apply the images to the pages, then sprinkled clear glitter all over it.  I am also entering the above pages into the:
Forever Night Challenge - Devilish Intentions

Next up - I was super excited to get an e-mail from Chris Stern, the designer/owner of the gorgeous CS Designs digital images, letting me know that I had placed in the Top 3 of her most recent challenge but also that I had won a challenge back in May that I missed!  She very generously offered to let me choose 3 images for winning that challenge, so I took about 5 seconds to find 3 gorgeous images and used one to play along with the new challenge theme this week:

I made an art journal page to match the last one I made - here are the 2 of them together:

I colored with Prismacolor markers to get a nice, bright look.  I then used lots of Mod Podge to apply the images to the page, and sprinkled some clear glitter over it.  Crab and seaside rocks images are from Just Some Lines.  :)  I'm also entering this into the:

AND I'm linking up to the She's Gone Digital blog - check out the other inspiring art journal pages!  I hope you are enjoying my foray into art journaling as much as I'm enjoying sharing it with you.  :)  Peace.

Designed2Delight Falloween Cat

Soooo - Cass is off to a good start in her junior year of high school and Trev started his college classes yesterday.  I can't believe how fast my kids are growing up.  When you have babies, everyone tells you how quickly it goes by but you don't really understand it until it happens.  LOL  It's so easy to feel like they're going to be babies forever when you haven't had a full night's sleep in 6 months and your hair smells like baby puke.  hee hee  I'm really proud of both of my kids - they're not perfect, but they're real people with good hearts.  :)  They are growing into such lovely young adults - and I guess that's our goal as parents after all.

I absolutely love the new image we got for the:

I colored the adorable "Falloween Cat" with my Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.   I made the background by taking a piece of glossy white cardstock and running my brayer over a Spectrum Autumn colors ink pad and then over the cardstock.  I cut the edges with scallop scissors and mounted on SU! Garden Green cardstock.  I then stuck colored brads all over it in Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, and Ruby Red.  The sticker sentiment is from SRM Stickers.   Peace.

Flutter By Wednesday - Human Journey

Hello there!  Just posting quick today for the:

I made an ATC for this, it's meant to celebrate life.  :)  The background's text says "We are not human beings on a spiritual journey, we are spiritual beings on a human journey."  The butterfly is from Dilly Beans, colored with Prismacolor markers.  I covered the whole thing with Mod Podge and glitter.  Peace.

DYSU - Friendly Critters

Ahhhhh - I love long weekends!  It's Labor Day today here in the U.S., a very low key weekend for me and the family.  We had a little cookout on Saturday, did some school supply shopping yesterday, and I plan to do nothing but crafting today.  That's my kind of holiday.  ;)

Today's card is made with one of the adorable freebies I got for sending a card to Ryan - see the sidebar on my blog here for details   ---------------------------------------------------------------------------->

Anyway, this image is called "farm helper" and I am entering this into the:

I colored my image with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  Cardstock , DP, and button are from SU!  Twine is from my stash.

Hope you are doing something fun today!  :)  Peace.

TGF - Which One Wednesday & Sweet Stampin'

My horoscope today was funny - it said something about how I should stop beating myself up over something I recently said or did, that I followed my conscience and there is nothing wrong with that.  It's funny because it's true!  I have always been the girl who really hates confrontation - so when people treat me poorly or my friends hurt my feelings, I usually don't say or do anything but I let it eat away at me.  I think that's why I have so many problems with my neck and migraines.  But over the past year, I've developed more of a back bone and have realized several things and here is the number one, most important thing that I have learned:  people who enjoy hurting you are not your friends.  They're not.  It doesn't matter if you've known them your whole life - longevity does not make friendship.  Trust, love, honesty, acceptance - those things make friendship.  This does NOT mean that you can't argue with your friends, get mad at them, disagree, have conflicting opinions.  What it means is that you should accept your friends for who they are but also be able to discuss the things that bother you or that you disagree about and then let it go and move on - am I right?  I think this is why true friendship is so rare and precious, very few of us are able to accept our own faults, never mind others.  I'm not perfect and if someone can't love me for who I am, then c'est la vie!  :)  It's been a little bit hard for me to really practice (the "not letting it get to me" part), but I'm working on it!  LOL

Today I have a card for:

I used one of the TGF digi images, Dressy Joyce - I paper pieced her clothes and colored her with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  DP is from 7Gypsies, buttons and twine are from my stash.

I am also entering this into the:
Sweet Stampin' Challenge - anything but birthday

Have a great Sunday.  Peace.

HDH - I Was Framed!

Labor Day weekend - I woke up with a headache today but I'm supposed to be going to visit a friend in the hospital and then to a party at another friend's house, so I sure hope this headache doesn't stick around!  I watched a really good movie last night - "Catch and Release" with Jennifer Garner (I think she is my favorite actress), it was one of those movies that require you to have a box of tissues handy.  I thoroughly enjoyed it.

For today, I have a card for the;

My images are from Dilly Beans - colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  Cardstock & DP are from SU!  Glitter is from EK Success.  Oh!  By the way, I stumbled across another site with images that will be perfect for the Haunted Design House challenges - it's called Creepie Cute Stamps - click to see them!

Have a great weekend.  Peace.
