Dilly Beans, Simply Betty, & Jellypark Friends

Have I told you that I love Fridays?  ;)  I do, I just love Fridays.  Today I'm heading to lunch with a friend, then coming home to make a baked macaroni and cheese for little Elianna's 1st birthday party tomorrow.  Jeremy is disappointed he's going to miss it, he loves Elianna (his cousin Leia's baby) - I'll have to take lots of pictures to share with him!  I bought her a little board book and a Sit n' Spin!  She's so darn cute, I can't wait to see her.

We have a fun new challenge for you at:

I used Amalia's Balloon Framed, colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits and Prismacolor markers.  DP is from Nikki Sivils.  I am also entering this into the:

The Altered Alice - The Best Butter

Oh my gosh, so I think Jeremy found a house for us to rent.  I should know for sure by the weekend, but it sounds great.  I'm getting really excited.  I can't wait to visit in a few weeks, but I really hate flying.  I always get a migraine when I travel across the country, it's awful.  But whatever, it's worth it to see my hubby and my boy and hopefully, my new place!  LOL

I have one card for you today, this is for:

My Alice is from Just Some Lines, colored with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits.  My DP is an older one from Stampin' Up!  Ribbon is also from SU!  Buttons are from my stash.
Peace.

TOF - Boys and MY boy

When I saw the theme for this week's challenge at The Octopode Factory - Boys Will Be Boys - I knew right away which image I wanted to create with.  When my son Trev was a little boy, he had a small stuffed Paddington bear that he called "Cutie".  Cutie was like his security blanket, and he wore out in spots but he remained beloved and mostly intact.  When Trev left for California last week, I spent about 5 hours cleaning his room (boys - UGH!), and was pleasantly surprised to find Cutie tucked away in a safe place in his closet.  My big boy has held on to Cutie all these years because he cherishes his childhood memories, and that makes me very happy.  I so thoroughly enjoyed having young children, and I've always enjoyed every minute of being a mom.  It's admittedly a different world when they are teenagers and growing into adults, but it's just as fulfilling and it's actually rewarding to see all your hard work paying off.  Because let's face it, parenting is hard work!  But it's the most rewarding job I have ever done in my life and I am so thankful for the chance to be their mom.

OK so here's the goods!  LOL

I colored Paddington with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits.  I printed out the sentiment with a "Kids First Handwriting" font, then boxed around the words with a black pen.  Cardstock, DP, and ribbon are from Stampin' Up!  Button is from my stash.
Peace.

Rain & Flowers & Fashion

Hey there - Monday's here again!  We're expecting warm temperatures this week, I guess we actually broke records yesterday (it reached 70 degrees Fahrenheit).  Cass and I made chicken caesar wraps for dinner last night and Skyped with Jeremy & Trev, it's nice to be able to see their faces.  :)

For today, we have a reminder post for you at:

I used Windy Day by Saturated Canary, colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits and Prismacolor markers.  Sentiment is from By Lori Designs.  DP is from My Mind's Eye, button and gemstone stickers are from my stash.

Next is my card for this week's:

I decided to avoid the St. Patrick's Day thing as it's over now.  LOL  So I went with one of the Dilly Beans images, I LOVE this eyeball flower and sentiment.  :)  I colored with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits.  DP is from My Mind's Eye.

Please also visit our post today at:

Art With No Boundaries - Fashionista

I used the Lace Dress Form with "Dare to be Different" sentiment, along with some black eyelets and a black ribbon (the challenge theme is to include bits from your sewing box).

Peace.

HDH MM, The Crazy Challenge, Forever Night, and Pollycraft

I had a nice day yesterday, visited with a friend and my sister came over and had dinner with Cass and I.  I also spent most of the day making cards - I did have a rough morning, I went grocery shopping and it made me miss Jeremy even more.  LOL  We always do the stupid shopping together.  Ah well, soon enough.

Gotta get this posted in time for the:

I based my card on CruElla Devil... I found this cool Dalmation-spotted digi paper on Creative AmandaK, and I paper-pieced CruElla's fur coat with it.  CruElla and puppy are from a Disney coloring-page site.

I love the way this next one came out - I tend to use Designer Paper a lot, so this was a bit challenging for me, but I love the results, it's for:
and

I used Skull and Rose from The Octopode Factory, coloring the roses with a red Prismacolor marker and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.  Cardstock and ribbon are from SU!  Gemstone stickers are from my stash.

And last - gotta post this quick for the:

Pollycraft Monday Challenge - sketch

I flipped the sketch but only because I had my card upside down when I applied my DP and I couldn't fix it without tearing it!  LOL  I colored with Prismacolor and SU! markers.  DP is an old one from SU!  Sentiment is a rub-on from SU!  Pearl stickers are from my stash.
Peace.

Wicked Wednesdays & JSL Reminders, Smudgy Antics & Beyond the Burtonesque

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Oh my gosh - what a week it's been.  I'm feeling very emotional and stressed out this week - I miss my husband and I miss Trevor.  I am looking forward to visiting with them on April vacation, but I really, really, really just can't wait to move out to California and join them.  June cannot come fast enough.

Anyway, we have a reminder post for you over at:

Check out the challenge blog for details and to link up with us!

My next creation is for the:
Smudgy Antics Challenge - Alter It
and
Beyond the Burtonesque - Alter It

I took these plain old coasters (chipboard) and altered them into a piece of creepy table art:

What do you think?
The image is from Smeared Ink, sentiment is from Dilly Beans.  I painted the coasters with Gesso in a heavy layer.  I then sprayed with Jet Black Smooch Spritz and added some buttons.
Peace.
