Mermaids and Moms

Hey there - I hope you're up to something fun this weekend!  My daughter is scheduled to be induced on Monday so I'm running around like crazy trying to make sure everything is done in case she needs me for anything. I'm supposed to go with her, but she also has 3 kids at home so I'll do whatever I need to do! I'm really looking forward to meeting this sweet little baby!

I'd like to enter this card below into the following challenges:

Allsorts #850 - Anything Goes

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday - Anything Goes

Pammie's Inky Pinkies - Anything Goes

Creative Artiste - Anything Mixed Media Goes

I used some lightly applied crackle paste through a mermaid scale stencil on the background, then spritzed some Mica Spray Stain on it (I think it was Jack-o-Lantern), lightly spritzed with water and let it dry. I die cut a tag (from Gina K. Designs Tag Trio) from watercolor paper, stamped a script text stamp on it and embossed with white embossing powder, then attached with a little orange brad. I applied some Lindy's Magicals to that and let it dry. I used a sentiment from Funky Fossil, die cut with a little banner die and sponged the edges with Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink. I printed out the gorgeous mermaid called Pearl's Birthday from Tiddly Inks and colored her with Copics and Stickles, then added Diamond Glaze to her pearl. I fussy cut and attached her with foam dots. I added a die cut (I could swear it's from Hero Arts but I cannot find it online!) that reminded me of netting and finished off with some bling in the form of rhinestone stickers.

Next up is one I made for the:

Shopping Our Stash Challenge - Congratulations

I colored my image with Copics and layered on a piece of torn fabric paper (I cannot for the life of me remember what it's called - you can see the fibers in it), using a kraft cardstock for the base. Peace.

  1. Both cards are absolutely beautiful. Such great details on the first with that interesting background and cute image. And an equally beautiful image on the second card. I believe it's called "mulberry paper". Thanks so much for joining us at Allsorts challenge to help us celebrate our 17th birthday.

PS: Best wishes to your daughter and it sounds like you will have some busy days ahead. How exciting!!
