Wicked Wednesday #95: Zodiac/Astrology

Hello friends - today we have a new challenge for you at:

We're being sponsored by Smeared Ink, and I chose to work with the Leo image, of course.  I printed out my image and spritzed it with Gold Glow Smooch Spritz.  I used an ATC background that had been spritzed with Black Velvet, Gold Glow, and Spun Sugar Smooch Spritzes and applied the image with foam dimensional dots.  I finished it off with a little "Leo" sticker from my Dymo Caption Maker. Peace.

Blue Birthday

Hello there - just popping in quick to share this cute birthday card I made for a friend's daughter.  And here is the list of challenges I'm entering it into:

I used Honey Cheerleader digi image from CC Designs, colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  Sentiment is from Desert Diva.  For the Crafty Cardmakers, my 3 embellishments are ribbons, brads, and the chipboard pieces (corner piece & letter "M").  I covered the letter "M" with silver embossing powder to match the corner piece.  I love how this came out!
Peace.

Rocking Horsefly

Ack!  I can't believe I'm leaving in 2 days!  hee hee  I have so much to do - but I'm sure it'll all be fine.  I do have a couple more projects to finish and quite a few blog posts to schedule for while I'm gone so I bet my carpal tunnel will be acting up tonight.  I don't care, it's worth it.  :)

I have one card to share today, this is for the:

I used the freebie that Sami Stamps is offering on their blog post (you must use a Sami Stamps image for their challenges) - Rocking Horsefly - colored with Prismacolor markers and lots of glitter.  I added some pink & white twine, some pink sparkly gem brads, and a button.  Text is from Dilly Beans.  I spritzed the whole thing with some pink shades of Glimmer Mist.  Peace.

Dilly Beans Tags & Jellypark Christmas

Happy Friday!  Four more days until I take off for MA - that came up quickly!  My mom is going to be SO surprised, I can't believe I managed to keep it from her.  I hope everyone can continue to keep it quiet for a few more days, I want so much to surprise her.  :)

One Sweet Challenge: Red, White, and Blue

Hello all!  Today I have a little ATC I made for the:

I got tired of making patriotic projects this month, so I went with a pirate theme instead!  I used Pirate Skeleton Roses (digi stamp), colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  The map background is from Tiddly Inks, I roughed it up a bit and dragged it through a black ink pad.  I attached the image to the map with foam dimensional dots and added a little skeleton key.  The map was then attached to a plain white ATC sized piece of heavy cardboard that I had dragged through a black ink pad.  Peace.

Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge: Christmas in July

Good morning!  We have a fun new challenge for you today at:

We're being sponsored by:

I am also linking my little Christmas ATC up with the:

Stamp & Create Challenge: Christmas in July
Lexi's Creations: Christmas in July
The Stamp Spot: Christmas in July

I used the sweet Mistletoe Fairy image, and I printed her directly on the DP very small (maybe an inch and a half?) and colored her with markers and pencils.  I really had fun making this little ATC, I think there was something "freeing" about making a Christmas project in July - no rush, no pressure, just having fun creating.  Head on over to the challenge blog to see what the rest of the DT came up with for their holiday ATC creations!
Peace.

Happy Birthday Trev!

Today is a big day - today my firstborn, my son Trevor, turns 20 years old.  The funny thing is that I think it's a bigger deal than he does - I'm going to be the parent of a TWENTY year old.  Holy cow, I'm old.  LOL

Here's the card I made for him, which I'm entering into the:

Addicted to CAS Challenge: Glitter

The Lion image came from Marcel's Kid Crafts, I printed him onto this paper from my stash that reminded me of Rasta colors and colored with Stickles.  I then stamped the "LEO" and stars and "happy birthday" from Mama Elephant all over the background and added some black pearl stickers.  Peace.

Dolphins & Cats

Monday again - it sure does come fast every week!  We took a ride up to Clear Lake yesterday, just to get out of the house and enjoy the scenery.  It's a little more than an hour north of us - I got a few pictures, but honestly it's just impossible to do the view justice with a camera.  I don't even have any worthy of sharing, I'm sad to say.  Trust me, it was beautiful.  :)

Today I have 2 cards to share, the first one is for this month's:

I printed the image on DP and fussy-cut it out, then attached it to my underwater scene (digi stamp from Sassy Studio) with foam dimensional dots.  I colored the scene with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits and added some Stickles. Paper is from my stash (it's actually Halloween paper! LOL).

And next is my card for the:

I love this sweet ADFD kitty image, and I paired it with a fun sentiment from Create with TLC.  The angel wing dies are from La La Land Crafts Dies.  Paper is from My Mind's Eye.  Hope your week gets off to a great start.  :)  Peace.

Sweet Sketch & Digi Stamp Boutique

Hey there - we just got back from taking a ride up to Clear Lake, I'll post a few pics tomorrow after I upload them.  So I'm just popping in quick on this relaxing Sunday to link up with the following challenges:
Sweet Sketch Wednesday (sketch below)

I used Zoe & Cake, colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  I used papers from Nikki Sivils, and I fussy-cut one of the party hats from the paper to add to Zoe in place of her hair bow.  All of the embellishments are just pieces of the paper that have been fussy-cut out and attached with foam dimensional dots.  I also added some pink glitter to the candles and the ribbon tied around the cupcake.  Peace.

WW Tree House Reminder & JSL Pink Lady Cafe

Hello friends - it's a beautiful Saturday morning here, but I hear it's disgustingly hot & humid back East still and I sure hope that crap is over by the time I get there.  I can handle the heat, but the humidity is just awful - makes it hard to breathe.  Anyway, we have a reminder post for you today at:

I'd like to enter my ATC into the following challenges:

Our sponsor is Funky Hand, who provided each of the DT members with an adorable tree house image to use.  I paper-pieced mine and attached some little text stickers on Kraft.  Added a little fairy charm to finish it off.

Next up - we've put our challenges on hold for the Summer, but I wanted to showcase one of the new images from Just Some Lines, so I made this for the following challenges:

The image is called BFF Duo Cafe from Just Some Lines.  I printed the image onto some digi paper and then just colored pieces with a pink marker and some pink glitter.  Papers are from My Mind's Eye - button & ribbon tag are from my stash.  Have a great weekend!  Peace.

Black Friday?

Happy Friday!
I took a day to do nothing but craft yesterday, and it felt so therapeutic to just sit and color.  I am not a last-minute girl, I don't work well under pressure, but I had to get my sparkly creation in for this week's Dilly Beans challenge.  My friend Krissy's daughter Lexi had a birthday at the end of June, and the card I made for her never showed up at her house (bummer).  So I had her in mind when I made this one, I'll be sending it to her as a replacement card.  LOL  This is for our new challenge at:

I am also entering this into the following challenges:
Inspired by Stamping #60 (color scheme below)
I used #569 - Milla Framed, colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  I added Cotton Candy Stickles to her hair bow and Black Diamond Stickles to all of the circles behind her.  Paper is digi paper from Tiddly Inks, and sentiment is a digi stamp from Create with TLC .  I added a bunch of clear & pink jewel stickers for added sparkle.  :)
 *************************************
Next is my card for the:

I used the Cheshire Cat from Digi My World, colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits and kept the whole thing very clean & simple.  Paper is from my stash, and I added a little "smile" text sticker at the bottom.
And last for today is my card for:

I used Vampire Girl, colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits and some Prismacolor markers.  I added a bit of Stickles (purple) and a clay brain, courtesy of my buddy Glo.  Papers are from doodlebug design, inc., and ribbon is from my stash. Peace.

Ladybug Painting

Well, I did it.  I bought a ticket to Boston last night for July 30.  But I'm not telling my mom, so keep it on the downlow.  LOL  I will be coming back with Cass on August 13, so it'll be a 2 week visit.  I really hope I can help while I'm there.  My sister and I have birthdays 3 days apart the first week in August, so I'm excited that I'll get to be there for that.  Last year, that was one of the only weeks that I felt truly homesick so I know it will help being home with my sister this year.  I'm looking forward to it now.  Maybe I'll even get to squeeze in a beach trip with one of my friends.  We shall see.  I know one thing, I'm going to be a busy girl the next week and a half, trying to prepare to be gone for that long.  I don't care, it's worth it.  :)

Today I have a card for the:

I colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits and kept the layout simple.  I had this old ladybug paper in my stash, so I applied a piece in a diagonal direction and then attached the ladybug image with dimensional dots.  I attached a small ribbon tag, some black pearl stickers, and some little ladybug embellies.  Then I misted the whole thing with Silver Foil Smooch Spritz (trying to cover up a boo-boo, actually).  I added some Black Diamond Stickles to her paintbrush, as well as to the black spots on her back and the black spots she's painting on the flowers.  Peace.

Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge: Tree Houses

Good morning!  It's amazing what a good night's sleep can do - I feel like a new person today.  I slept for almost 10 hours last night and boy, did I need it.  I have a busy day ahead of me today, but tomorrow is a planned crafty day and I cannot wait.  :)  I have a few projects I've been itching to get started on.  So for today, we have a new challenge for you at:

This one will make you all put your thinking caps on, for sure.  You can design your own tree house or you can use an image you've already got - we were sponsored by Funky Hand this week, so we each got to use one of their fun Tree House digi stamps.  Mine is called Number 2 - Tree Stump Lane, and I paper-pieced it with papers from My Mind's Eye and then colored the rest with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits and Stickles.  I added a little sun in the corner and a "home" sticker that I outlined with more Stickles (I am becoming addicted to Stickles!).  Peace.

Jade Dragon's Tinkerbell

Hello everyone - got Cass off safe and sound this morning, and saw a few scary accidents in San Francisco on the way.  The fog was heavy and the roads were a little wet - not a good combination.  We made it back, though, and I expect Cass to land in Boston about a half hour from now.  I miss her already!  :)  Today I have a card for the following challenges:

I used an image from Jade Dragon (with her permission, as she requires before entering challenges with her art) called Tinkerbell.  I colored her with a combination of Prismacolor markers & pencils and mineral spirits.  Her wings, the pompoms on her shoes, and the mushrooms all have SU! Dazzling Diamonds glitter on them.  Paper is from my stash, it's an older one from SU!  I added a paper flower, ribbon tag, and a fairy charm.  I was pleased with this one, Jade's images are such fun to color.  Peace.

Better Late Than Never...

Man, I hate when I can't get to blogging.  I blog almost every single day, and I really miss it when I don't.  I've been so crazy busy the last few days that I didn't even get a chance to blog and enter a couple of challenges I had created cards for last week.  I'm going to save them for another time, but I did want to share a few of my DT things with you before the week gets away from me.  Before I do, I'll give you a quick update:  My mom is healing, but my step-dad sounds extremely stressed.  His mom, who was bedridden with Alzheimer's for many years, passed away in the middle of all of this going on with my mom.  I am still trying to plan a way to get back there next week so I can help out for a few weeks, and I guess the stress finally caught up with me.  I had a headache all day yesterday and then woke up in the middle of the night with a full-blown migraine.  I blew the blood vessels in my eyes from throwing up and looked pretty scary today, if I do say so myself.  LOL  I just keep repeating to myself over and over again that things are going to get better and life will be back to "normal" soon.  I'm a planner and this up-in-the-air stuff drives me crazy.  I need to know if/when I'm going back there and for how long.  I need to plan!  Hopefully, I should have it all straightened out by the end of the week.

So anyway - these are both from Saturday, but you get them on Monday.  So the first is an ATC for our challenge at:

I would like to enter this little ATC into the following challenges:

I used the White Rabbit digi from Digi My World, and I paired him with some paper from my stash and a little clipart of a time piece that I outlined with Platinum Stickles.

We also had a winner's post today, and the start of our Summer break at Just Some Lines:

I used the new image that Jehanne named after me (how cool is that?  hee hee), Jenn Holding Balloons, and I colored her with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits and then added some red Stickles to her shoes and the heart on her shirt.  Papers are from MME, ribbon is from my stash.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Peace.

Mermaids and Thank Yous

Good  morning!  Mom is in for her surgery now, so I guess I'll update tomorrow on that situation.  I'm heading out with Cass this morning so she can go buy a few new things before she heads back East for her Summer trip.  She also has a little part-time job this weekend dog-sitting for a giant Golden Retriever whose name, appropriately enough, is Bear.  So we have to pick up Bear on our way home, too.  So I'm just posting my cards quickly - first up we have a new challenge for you at:

I used 558 - Ahmea Mermaid, colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits and a little True Blue & Lime Green Stickles.  Papers are from MME, I added some pearl stickers to her hair and some gemstone stickers as accents, then added the text stickers.  She's one of my favorite Dilly Beans images, I just adore all of Megan's mermaids.

And we also have a new challenge for you at:

I am also entering this into the:

I chose this fun image because I wanted to make a "thank you for your friendship" card for a friend of mine, and the sentiment was just perfect.  I used True Blue Stickles on her fancy boots and colored the rest of her with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  Peace.

Hot Stuff

So it turns out my mom's arm/elbow situation is "worst case scenario."  It's basically broken in 3 places and she will be getting surgery tomorrow - which also happens to be her 64th birthday.  They will most likely put a prosthetic bone in her arm, she'll be in a cast for about 2 weeks and then have aggressive physical rehabilitation for several weeks.  She'll be in pain and she cannot drive until it heals.  So I'm about 75% sure I'll be heading there to help out - but I can't tell my mom that or she will forbid it.  LOL   So I'm going to have to be sneaky.  Cass leaves for her already-planned trip back East next Tuesday.  I'm thinking I'll probably head out a week or two after her, and stay for 2-3 weeks and then just have us both fly home together.  I just feel a sense of responsibility being the oldest child and the only one who really can help... my sister works full-time and lives 1/2 hour away from my mom and my brother is a useless derelict.  And my poor step-dad just sounds so distraught... I have to do something.  I want to see how the surgery goes - I worry about my mom because she's been a heavy smoker for about 45 years now.  *sigh*  I am sorry to go on and on... I really appreciate all of your kind words and supportive comments.  Thanks so much for that.  Sending you all a giant hug.

Today I have a card for the:

I used Lilith from the Tickled Pink line at CC Designs, colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  Papers are digi papers (not sure from where but it was definitely a freebie, the file name is "Tonya Love Fun Sun"), and I added a ribbon tag, some gemstone brads, and a flat-back Glow Skull.  Peace.

Rabbits and Spiders?

Good morning!  The days just fly by, don't they?  I can hardly believe it's already Wednesday again.  Which means it is time for a new challenge at:

I am also entering this little ATC into the following challenges:

We're being sponsored by the fabulous Rick St. Dennis this week at Wicked Wednesday, and I used the fun "White Rabbit" image, colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  I used my shrink paper to create the little charm with an image of a timepiece I found online (I cannot for the life of me find my cool Rubbernecker rubber stamp set that has a few of these awesome timepieces in it!), and printed the text out on some DP and then cut it to ATC-size for the background.

Next up - we also have a brand new challenge for you today at:

Our movie challenge is an entire month long, so you've got plenty of time to play along.  I used a coloring image of Spiderman's face that I found online, then colored it with a red Prismacolor pencil and mineral spirits and attached it with pop-up dots.  I printed the text in my word processing program and just tore the paper and attached it along the bottom, then used my spider web die for the background & attached the spider (same die) with pop-up dots.  Peace.

Sweet Sketch & Inkspirational Challenges

Good morning!  So I've been talking to my dad and trying to decide if I should go back East for a few weeks.  My mom goes for a consultation tomorrow to figure out if they are going to do surgery on her elbow (she fell and broke her arm badly at the elbow Sunday morning).  She's in a lot of pain, but she tries not to let my dad know.  My dad is actually my step-dad, but he's been there since I was a young teenager and I consider him my father.  Anyway, his mom has been suffering from Alzheimer's for many years now and my parents received word over the weekend that she would probably be gone by Monday.  Today is Tuesday and she's still hanging on - the whole thing is incredibly sad and emotionally draining and I hate being so far away from my parents right now.  My brother is getting worse and is back to nodding off at the kitchen table and walking around shivering when it's 100 degrees out... it's just so stressful.  I try not to let him and his addictions bother or affect me in any way and moving 3000 miles away sure did help - but when I see my parents going through so much at once, it makes me want to just beat the shit out of him for being so selfish and stupid.  Anyway, please keep my parents in your thoughts or prayers if you are so inclined.  They can use all the positive energy coming their way that they can get.  And if I do end up going back to help, I may need to take a few weeks off from blogging and stuff (which gives me slight anxiety, I admit - this is kind of my therapy!).  I'll keep you posted.
********************************************
Today I have 2 cards to share.  Yesterday I told you about my daughter's best friend Jamie, and how her dad had cancer and passed away Sunday morning.  I wanted to make her a special sympathy card, so I made her this one that I am entering into the following challenges:

Sweet Sketch Wednesday (sketch below)

I used one of the new images from A Day for Daisies called Fairy Kitten, colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits and SU! Dazzling Diamonds Glitter for the wings. My papers are digi papers from Pixel Scrapper (Marisa Lerin).  I added a feather, a piece of pink rick rack, some text stickers, and a few diamond brads.  I hate that I had to make this for a young girl who lost her dad, but I love the way it came out and I know she will too.  Jamie and Cass have always had a "thing" for kittens and cats, so I just knew I wanted to use this image for her.

My next card is for the:

I used Dilly Beans 420: Sugar Skulls Stack, colored with Prismacolor markers and 3 different shades of purple Stickles (Lavender, Purple, and Starry Night).  I attached the panel of skulls with foam dimensional dots to a plain black card and then just added some purple gemstone stickers.  I wanted the image to really be the focal point, I love all the purple glitter and this is one of my favorite Dilly Beans images.
Have a great day everyone!  Peace.

Creepie Mermaid

We got word yesterday that we lost another warrior to the cancer battle.  My daughter Cass has a best friend, Jamie, who has been like another daughter to me.  They have been friends since they were little, and Jamie's dad was always really good to Cass.  He had been battling cancer for a couple of years and he lost the battle Sunday morning.  Rest in peace, Pete.  We love you, Jamie.  :(
 ***************************************
Today's card is for the following challenges:

Sketch & Stash (sketch below)

I used Daydreaming from Creepie Cute Stamps, colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  Purple paper (purple is my favorite color) is a digi paper from Free Digital Scrapbooking.  I added some paper flowers from my stash and used Wonky Eyed Skull flatbacks from Creepy Glowbugg Concoctions as the centers - also added some teal webbing and some pearl stickers.  Peace.

The Life in Your Years

Good morning!  So quite an eventful weekend around here - Cass fell playing soccer with Trev Friday night and sprained her ankle pretty badly.  Then Saturday morning my dad called to tell me that my mom tripped and fell while heading outside to do yard work and broke her right arm!  My poor mom, I feel so very badly for her.  I guess it's a bad break and may need surgery.  I'm not telling her this, but if she finds out she's going to have no right arm for several months I am going to go for another visit and try to help her for a few weeks.  I feel so helpless being so far away, it's just awful.  Then yesterday afternoon an Asiana Airlines jet crashed upon landing at San Francisco Airport!  Can you imagine flying all the way from freaking China, with a layover in Seoul, only to CRASH as you're LANDING at the damn airport?  So sad.

Today I have a card for the:

and

I used Isabella from A & T Digital Designs, colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.  Papers are from My Mind's Eye, and I added a little butterfly charm.  Rick rack & ribbon tag are from my stash.  Peace.

WW: Happy Crabby & JSL: Fairy Tales Can Come True

You know how sometimes you just don't even realize you're feeling crappy and it just hits you out of the blue?  That kind of happened to me the other day.  I was feeling homesick, missing being with my friends and family on the 4th of July holiday, celebrating and having fun.  Then I got into an argument with my husband, which is just really rare for us... I was just very weepy and sad. Then we started talking and realized we were both feeling frustrated and needed to have a talk with our son.  Trev is going to be 20 in a few weeks, but he has Asperger's and his social and emotional level is more like a 15-year-old.  But he's scary smart.  That can be a frightening combination.  So we talked and made some decisions and then we sat him down and had a chat, and it went surprisingly well.  Trev has never been interested in driving.  But we feel like it's a big step towards some independence for him, and that it's important for all of us for him to take that step.  He actually agreed with us and I made him an appointment to take his learner's permit test next Wednesday.  That was a big thing, and it made me optimistic at a time when I needed it - life works in mysterious ways, doesn't it?

Today we have a reminder post for you at:

I am entering this into the following challenges:

QKR Stampede: Rock the Red, White, and Blue
DRS Designs: Summer Sun, Summer Fun
Crafting by Design: Red, White, and Blue
2Sisters: Red, White, and Blue

Our sponsor is 2CuteInk and I used the adorable Happy Crabby image, colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  Head on over to see the rest of the DT's red, white and blue creations.

We also have a reminder post for you today at:

Just Some Lines: Anything Goes with a JSL Image

I am entering this into the:
