Happy Halloween!

Today is my day to post over at:

And since it's Halloween, I went a little crazy with the Halloween cards.  LOL  So please pop on over and check them out - here's just a sampling, using

"Hallow Bird":
I am also entering this one into:
The Sisterhood of Crafters Challenge - Halloween

I colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  Isn't that DP fantastic?  I have a new obsession - digi papers.  I have to tell you, I resisted for a long time.  But I downloaded some freebies I found and now I'm hooked.  This one is from Free Digital Scrapbooking and is called Orange Crackle.

Next up is a card I made for the:

Dare to be Sassy Challenge #96 - Favorite Movie

Can you guess what my favorite movie is?  As soon as I saw the theme this week, I knew what I wanted to make.  I LOVE this Pirate Girl image and if you haven't guessed by now, my favorite movie is Pirates of the Caribbean!  My husband and I watch them over and over - we just love Johnny Depp, he makes us laugh.  I colored with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits, I used lots of Gold Glow and Log Cabin Smooch Spritz to roughen up the look of the map.  Cardstock and brads are from SU!

Next up is a card I made for 2 challenges:

Saturated Canary Challenge: 1-2-3

and
Southern Girls Challenge: Stripes and Polka Dots

OK so the "1" is 1 image and I used the Becca and Bo image from Saturated Canary, colored with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits.  "2" was 2 patterned papers - mine are from My Mind's Eye.  "3" is for 3 embellishments - I used ribbon, "hello sunshine" stickers", and brads from SU!  I colored the kitty to look like our kitty, Cubby - and I colored the girl to look like my daughter Cassidy.  She's 16 but when she's with her kitty, she acts like she's 6.  hee hee

Hope you all have a safe and happy Halloween!  Peace.  <|:)

I'm Dreaming of a White... Halloween?

Yeah, I'm still harping on it.  LOL  So we ended up with.... a foot of snow.  Power seems to be out everywhere except my house!  Ha!  Seriously, though, we did not lose power yet - there's still a chance, but I just made my coffee so bring it on.  hee hee  We broke a record in my city - the previous record for snow in October was 7 inches.  The news is reporting more than twenty inches in New Hampshire and close to that in a few towns in Massachusetts.  The problem is that there are still lots of leaves on the trees so with the added weight of all this wet, heavy snow the poor trees are sagging and branches are snapping off.  In some cases, entire trees are coming down.  Should be an interesting day!

ANYWAY!  Here's what I have for you today - appropriately enough it's a Christmas card!  LOL  First up is a card for the:

I colored my adorable Just Some Lines Christmas Robin with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  Cardstock and rub-on sentiment are from Stampin' Up!
Next up is my card for the:

The challenge was to use this color scheme:  dark blue, light blue, black, white, and silver.  I used Angel Sugar, colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits, and lots of glitter.  Cardstock and DP are from SU!  Ribbon is from my stash.

Peace.

I Hate Snow in October!

Good morning!  I woke up to a gorgeous morning - blue sky, clean and crisp air... really no indication of the EIGHT to TWELVE INCHES of snow we're expecting later on tonight.... Yeah, I said it.  A foot of snow.  In October.  *sigh*  I remember back in 1979, I was 8 years old and we had snow during trick-or-treating... so it's not unheard of.  But it's still not something we look forward to, that's for sure!  LOL

So for today I have a few things to share, first up is my creation for the:
I used this adorable "Christmas Robin" FREEBIE from Just Some Lines that you can find here.  He's colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits and sprayed with Gold Glow Smooch Spritz.  Cardstock, brads, and ink are from Stampin' Up!  The optional part of the challenge was to add dimension, which I did by printing the image out twice, cutting the first one out into the center of a circle and then fussy-cutting the 2nd one and applying with foam dimensional dots.  I also added white Fun Flock to the Santa cap.

REMINDER - you have one more week to enter the:

Just Some Lines Challenge - Halloween Theme

Just Some Lines is also sponsoring the Kaboodle Doodles Challenge this week, too, the theme of which is also Halloween, so I'm also linking this ATC up to that challenge as well as:

The Sisterhood of Crafters Challenge - Halloween

I used the adorable Hallo Cat image, colored with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits. I sponged the background lightly with black ink.  Cardstock, DP, and brads are from Stampin' Up!

I also have a card for the:
Polka Doodles Halloween Challenge

I used their Special Halloween Download to create this spooky Halloween card.  :)

And last, but not least, don't forget to create a set of 3 ATC's for my challenge over at:
Wicked Wednesdays ATC Challenge Blog!

Thanks - hope you all have a fabulous weekend.  Stay warm, my New England friends!
Peace.

Anyone for Anya & Simon Says Stamp

Oh my gosh - we saw SNOWFLAKES yesterday and this morning I had to scrape the ice off my car!  I'm so not ready for that yet!  LOL  It didn't amount to much, but it wasn't a pleasant sight regardless! We might get a little more this weekend, too, which means I will be staying put!  :)

I decided to go vintage for the sketch this week at:

I am also entering this into the:

Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Anything Goes

I used Cheeky Glamour, colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  DP is from Donna Salazar, sprayed with Log Cabin Smooch Spritz.  Buttons are from foof-a-la.

Peace.

The image is a combination of a coloring page pumpkin and tombstone I found online and Tyler from TGF's body.  The background is from Lunivers De Shatam.  I colored with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits.  Peace.

Digi Stamp Boutique & Tiddly Inks

Oh ugh - I did NOT sleep well last night.  Bad dreams and all that - makes you feel like you barely slept at all!  I think today is a going to be a very quiet day around here, I may even try to squeeze in a nap - although I never do that, and if I do I probably won't sleep tonight.  Can't win!  LOL

This is my first time playing along at the:

I used the June freebie Polly Penguin, colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  Cardstock and punch are from Stampin' Up!  Sentiment is a rub-on from my stash.

Sassy Steampunk Progressive #4

Well, I had a great time playing along with the Sassy Steampunk Progressive Challenge at Sassy Studio Designs and I'm kind of sad it's come to an end!  LOL  Here is my creation using our 4th freebie, Steampunk Vivian:

I colored her with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits, she's printed out on Very Vanilla cardstock.  The background paper is from 7Gypsies.
Thanks to Sassy Studio for the fun challenge and the beautiful free digi images to play along with!  :)  Peace.

JSL: Halloween & Tiddly Inks: Fall

Man, time just flies - I can hardly believe it's time for another new challenge at Just Some Lines!  This time, our theme is:

***************************************************
I also wanted to share a card I made for the little contest Christy is having over at Tiddly Inks here - she wants to see some Fall cards, so I made this one, which I am also entering into the Lollipop Crafts Challenge - No Sentiment:

I used the adorable Owlette, colored with Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits.  The colors just scream FALL to me - what about you?  While I was at it, I printed her out again smaller and made an ATC with a different color scheme:

I'm also linking her up to Sandy's Space Challenge #6 - Girls

And just to show you the size difference, here are both creations together:

Thanks for taking the time to visit my little blog today!  :)  Peace.

Stamping Bella, Really Reasonable Ribbon, D2D, & CC Designs

Yup - it's Friday again!  My good friend Annik is visiting me this afternoon, someone I haven't seen in a YEAR!  Time just flies by, doesn't it?  I miss her so very much and I'm looking forward to our visit.  :)  What a great way to start my weekend!

Being Friday, that means it's time for another challenge at Stamping Bella's Bellariffic Friday.  We had a sketch this week, here's my interpretation of it:
I used the super-cute Payton stamp, paper-pieced her clothes and colored the rest with Prismacolor and Stampin' Up! markers.  DP and punch are also from SU!  The "merry xmas" stamp is from The Greeting Farm.

Next up is my card for this week's:
Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge #34 - Fun 4 Fall
and

I LOVE the way this came out, if I do say so myself!  LOL  I used Celeste the Good Witch from Michelle Perkett Studio, colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits and a bit of Prismacolor markers.  The "autumn" text stamp is from Beyond the Fringe.  I sprayed the entire thing with Gold Glow Smooch Spritz, which gave it such a nice glow-y look, I just love it.  I also added some glitter.  The ribbon is from SU!  The little ribbon tags were made from my scrap bag of ribbon pieces.  :)

And last for today is my card for the color challenge at Show & Tell with CC Designs - we were to use black, burnt orange, and tan:

I used the adorable monkey image printed on tan cardstock, I used orange glitter for the flowers.  Cardstock, glittler, and brads from SU!  Ribbon is from my stash.

Peace.

Sassy Studio Steampunk Victoria & Moving Along with the Times

I just wanted to get this posted tonight for the:
I am also entering this into the:
Moving Along with the Times Challenge- Vintage

Our challenge was to create something with a Victorian or vintage look - I went for the vintage look, what do you think?  I printed the image out twice on Very Vanilla cardstock from Stampin' Up!  I cut the first image out with a rectangular background and dragged the edges through dark brown ink.  I then colored the other image with Prismacolor markers and fussy-cut her out, then attached her with foam dimensional dots.  Designer paper is from 7Gypsies and the vintage brads are from SU!  I spritzed the paper with Log Cabin Smooch Spritz before attaching the images.  Hope you like!  :)
Peace.

Thoughts and Challenges

Do you ever watch that show Storage Wars?  It's basically a reality show where abandoned storage units are auctioned off - although I do enjoy watching the show, I can't help but feel badly for the people whose belongings are being sold to the highest bidder.  I always wonder if they are watching the show.... I mean, let's face it, most people don't just abandon their stuff willingly.  I'm sure they had tragedies and unforeseen circumstances in their lives... I could never profit off of stuff like that, I just wouldn't be able to sleep at night.  Maybe I'm a big old sucker, maybe I think too much, I don't know, it just doesn't seem right.  Anyway - on to the art!

First up is my card for:

and

I used the adorable Miss Evie Flowers, paired with some Christmas papers and colored to match.  Cardstock and DP are from Stampin' Up!  "merry xmas" stamp is from The Greeting Farm.

Next up is my card for the new sketch this month at:

The Prickley Pear Challenge

I used the set that I won from their challenge last month - Build an Owl - I LOVE this set.  My cardstock and DP are from Stampin' Up!  I used white Fun Flock on the owl.  I love the way this one came out.

And last for today - I wanted to share my art journal pages with you for this week's:
TGF Heart Journaling - Week 13 - Lucky Number

I am totally addicted to Stephen King's "The Dark Tower" - I have read the entire story - which is 7 books - three times already.  The number 19 is significant in this story and I based my journal pages on this.  So do I have any Dark Tower fans in my audience out there?  :)
Peace.

Forever Night, Clean & Simple Fridays, D2D, & ATC Challenges

You can probably tell that I really like Halloween.  LOL  We have a new challenge for you at my challenge blog, Wicked Wednesdays ATC Challenge Blog!  Our theme is... you guessed it.  Halloween.  hee hee  Go play along, you have a week!
****************************************
OK so in the spirit of Halloween, I have some appropriate creations to share with you today.  :)  First up is a card I made for 2 challenges:

and

I used this cool and creepy castle image I found at Stampers Best, kept it simple with only Black and Perfect Plum cardstock.  Love the black ribbon.

Next up - this one is more Fall-ish than Halloween - this is for the:

I used the pumpkin tag image from D2D colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits combined with "Bountiful Blessings" sticker from SRM Stickers.  Cardstock & ribbon are from SU!

And last for today is an ATC - it's hard to tell the difference in pics, but the ATC's are only 3.5 x 2.5 inches compared to a standard size card's 5.5 x 4.25.  Anyway - this is for the:

Fun with ATC's Challenge - Halloween
and

Moving Along with the Times - Create an ATC

I colored my image with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits and glitter.  Hope you like it!
Peace.

The challenge was to use 5 items out of a list of 15.  I used the adorable Halloween Tags set along with some SU! designer paper (that has a few skulls on it), cardstock, tags, and glitter.  I also used some Silver Foil Smooch Spritz and added gemstone stickers.  So that means I used.... 8 out of the 15!  :)  OK that's all for now!  Peace.

Sassy Studio - Progressive Challenge!

I stumbled upon this challenge this morning and wanted a chance to play along, so I printed out the free "Steampunk Josephine" image and got to work on a card for the:

I printed out Josephine's had large for the background, then printed out a smaller version of Josephine's entire body (all on Kraft cardstock), coloring only parts of her and attaching her to the card with foam pop-up dimensional dots.  I added a metal charm to the upper left corner and 3 metal brads to the upper right corner.  That's all for now - more tomorrow!  :)  Peace.

Tiddly Inks, Saturated Canary, & JSL

Hello again!  :)  I'm so proud of my kiddos, I have to brag for a sec.  Trev is taking his first college courses this semester and he's really surprised me with his level of motivation and commitment.  Pleasantly surprised me.  I'm totally happy for him, even though he wants to join the National Guard.  I've got mixed feelings about that, but I try to just be supportive and look on the bright side - like the fact that he'd learn to clean up after himself.  LOL  Cass is in 11th grade and she's doing fabulous - she comes home and sits with me and does homework, she is proud of herself and looking forward to good grades.  I'm so happy that I have kids who like their parents - LOL - really, though.  I enjoy their company, I love having talks with them, they're just such good kids, turning into good young adults.  :)  What more could I ask for?

Well I have a few cards for you today - I was a super busy girl this past weekend and have PLENTY of eye candy for the week!  AND I got my house cleaned - how's that for multi-successful?  hee hee  First up is my card for the:

I used the handsome Carpenter Joe with his toolbox and hammer - colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits and Copic markers.  Background is blueprints I found online for a plane.  LOL  I love that hammer brad that I had in my stash, too, and was dying for an excuse to use it!  :)

Next up is for a challenge I wasn't even going to try because I loathe sewing.  ROFL  But I love these images and must make every attempt to win some more, so I gave it a shot.  hee hee  This is for the:

I used the sweet Hello Kitty image, colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits and Prismacolor markers.  Background paper is from Tiddly Inks, stickers are from SRM Stickers.  I stitched the heart onto the background paper with a thick silver thread - presto, I'm a seamstress.  hee hee

And last for today - today is my day to post over at the Just Some Lines blog - here is the sweet card I made for that:

This bird matched well with some designer paper and chipboard stickers I had leftover from Crate Paper.  I colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits and used Kraft cardstock.

Have a great week, my friends.  Peace.

Two Peas in a Bucket Stamping Bella Challenge!

I decided to play along with the Vendor - Stamping Bella Project Challenge going on over at Two Peas in a Bucket.  Check out the post for the rules and to play along.  Here is my creation, from several angles so you can see the way the fairies pop off the page:

I used 3 of the pixies from Stamping Bella, along with some Bella Dots in the corner.  Designer paper is from 7Gypsies - images are stamped with Tsukineko ink and embossed with sparkly embossing powder from Ranger.  I sprayed the background papers with Log Cabin Smooch Spritz from Clearsnap and then after I attached the pixies I sprayed the entire thing with Gold Glow Smooch Spritz - I love the way it gives it such a nice, shimmery look.  Wish me luck - there will be THREE winners who each get $50.00 to spend at Stamping Bella (which I could so totally do in, like, 5 2 minutes).  ;)  hee hee
I got a message from the woman who runs
Sandy's Space: Sandy's Challenges

who asked me to link this up to her "girly" challenge, too - so I am!  :)

I have a post over at Just Some Lines today, too, if you want to check it out and see another ATC I made.
Hope you are all enjoying your weekend!  Peace.
