Dilly Beans: Buttons & Jellypark: All About the Kids

Good morning, friends.  Well, I got some not-so-great news from back home yesterday, which of course just makes me even more homesick.  My mom has been doing awesome with her arm, the doctor was super impressed with her recovery - then she found out yesterday that she has an infection and had to schedule surgery for this morning.  A huge set-back, but she'll be OK.  It just sucks being so far away from her.  Then I talked to Jeremy's aunt and found out that his dad, who is fighting throat cancer and in the middle of radiation, had to be hospitalized yesterday for dehydration and a feeding tube.  He can't eat, it just hurts too much.  My heart feels very heavy - I try to stay strong and supportive and optimistic when I talk to everyone, but then I go have a good cry in the shower.  I guess that's OK, right?  It has to be, because if I hold it in I will just explode.  I'm such a lucky girl, though - I've got some really good friends who just know how to make me smile and laugh when I need it.  Some of you will read this and some have no idea I even have a blog - and I love you all with all of my heart.  Couldn't make it through the days and stay sane without you.  So thank you.  You know who you are.  :)  And if you could all just keep Connie (my mom) and Rich (Jeremy's dad) in your thoughts and/or prayers, it would be greatly appreciated.

Today we have a new challenge for you at:

I am also entering my Cute as a Button card into the following challenges:

I used Dilly Beans #569: Milla Framed, colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits and lots of Stickles.  Paper and chipboard buttons are from My Mind's Eye, the rest of the buttons are from my stash.  I printed the sentiment on the DP with my word processing program and tied a ribbon from Stampin' Up! around it.

We also have a new challenge for you today at:

Jellypark: All About the Kids

I used Jellypark #222: Boy Reading Book, colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  I went with a cowboy theme and used some fun papers from Carta Bella.  Peace.

  4. Jenn - sorry to hear your Mom is having further surgery. Good luck to her and your father-in-law. It must be very difficult to be so many miles apart. I'm sure they know you are there in spirit.

Your Top 3 at Anya tag is overlapping the comment box. I hope what I wrote makes sense, lol!

    Great cards as usual!!!
