TGF Heart Journal

Good morning!  I've got a little mini rant for today.  LOL There is a particular stamp company of which I am quite fond (but won't name here because the purpose of this is not to bash them as a stamp company) that runs their challenges through SplitcoastStampers instead of by using a linky system.  I don't really like those types of challenges because they seem more like SCS popularity contests than true challenges.  So that's what my rant is about today - I decided to play along last week and was deeply disappointed not to receive ONE comment on my entry.  It's especially disheartening when several others have 40 comments or more on their card.  I also can see there were over 90 "views" of my card.  90+ views but not one person could leave a comment?  It's just kind of odd to me.  So I made a point to go through the entire gallery and leave a comment on every card that didn't have one.  I'm on a couple of DT's and I guess I feel like it's my job to make people feel warm and fuzzy about using that company's product.  When we do challenges, I comment on EVERY single entry into our challenges, even when there are hundreds.  It just feels like the right thing to do.  I wish everyone felt that way, because it actually made me feel bad not to have received one lousy comment - and it's just silly to feel badly over something that's supposed to be fun.  OK - rant over.  Hmph.

I just have one thing to share today, it's this week's entry into:
The Greeting Farm Heart Journal - Week 10

I used Gesso on my pages, then some pink acrylic paint on the right page.  DP is from My Mind's Eye - I tore the words out and then tore the paper to fit the pages.  I always wished I knew how to play the guitar - kind of a secret wish when I was a kid!  LOL

Well I'm off to spend the day with my good friend Linda, looking forward to finding some new colors of Smooch Spritzes & sprays!  :)
Have a great day!  Peace.

My kids & a few challenges...

Yesterday I took my daughter and her boyfriend for a photo shoot so he would have "senior pictures" (she's a junior).  They came out really cute, here are just a couple of them:

They have such great personalities, all of them.  I love it.

Rainbows & Halloween

Oh my God - I just love playing with the TGF images and swapping their heads around with their bodies... hee hee  Can you figure out which ones I swapped around for this card?  This is for:

and

I colored my image with Prismacolor markers so it would be nice and bright.  I love the saying, too - it's just so true.  :)

Next up is my card for TGF's:
Farm Fresh Friday - Halloween
and
Sketch Saturday Challenge #174

I used the adorable Halloween Witch digi image from TGF along with cardstock, DP, brads, glitter, and markers from SU!  Part of my image is colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.

Hope your week is off to a good start!  Peace.

JSL Images

I love when I get lots of creating time - it's truly like therapy to me, and it just puts me in a better mood.  I've been busy this past week and am happy to share several projects with you today.  First up - today is my day to post on the Just Some Lines blog, I am also entering my card into 2 challenges:
Flutterby Wednesday - Open Challenge
and
Crafty Catzy Weekly Challenge #101 - Fall

I used "Fairy Hello Friend" and the "Autumn" word stamp - all colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  Cardstock, ink, glitter, and brads are from SU!  DP is from Pressed Petals.

Next is my card for the:
Cupcake Craft Challenge - Black & Purple

For this card I used another Just Some Lines image - this is "Emo Alice" and I colored her with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  Cardstock and ribbon are from SU!  DP is from DCWV, gemstone stickers are from my stash (I get these gemstone stickers for $1 a pack at AC Moore, but the brands change every time I go, it seems, and I take them out of their packaging and throw them all into a drawer so I apologize for not giving proper credit!).
Peace.

JSL, Digital Tuesday, MFT, & Incy Wincy

It's Saturday and it's time for another challenge at Just Some Lines!  This time, our theme is "Fall Colors" - I decided to make an ATC using Emo Elenora's Sunflower:

I colored her with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits, covered the whole thing with Mod Podge and sprinkled clear glitter over it all.  I am also entering this into the:

Digital Tuesday Challenge #129 - People Images

Next up is a card for the

My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge #38

I used the "Aim High" set, along with some papers from Die Cuts With a View, and added some gemstone stickers.

One more to share with you today - this one is for a new (to me) challenge blog that I stumbled across:

Incy Wincy Designs Challenge - Distressing

I used an image from Digital Two for Tuesday - cardstock is from Stampin' Up!  Ribbon is from my stash.  I roughed up my Kraft cardstock and distressed the edges, then dragged it through a brown ink pad.
Have a happy day!  Peace.

Musical cards!

Happy Friday!  I am heading to my sister's tonight for one of those dem things, it's for a company called At Home America - I'm just looking forward to having some girl time!  Then tomorrow we're all heading back out to my sister's for my nephew Josh's 14th birthday party.  Fun!  :)

I have a bunch of stuff for you today - and realized after I had them all ready that they are all musical!  Total coincidence, but it works!  :)  This first card is for the:

I stamped my butterfly in Perfect Plum ink onto DP from Donna Salazar, fussy-cut them out and flipped the sketch onto it's side.  All DP is from Donna Salazar, cardstock and gemstone brads are from SU!  Have a great weekend!

And next up - I was so excited to see my friend Tracey's card showcased for the:

Greeting Farm Mystery Monday:  CASE TWilson1424

I colored "Sing" with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  All of my cardstock, DP, and felt flowers are from Stampin' Up!  I am also entering this into the:
Paper Sundaes Challenge - use FELT

Last - I have a card that I made for Stamping Bella's Bellariffic Friday Challenge - which happened to be a sketch, and I combined it with the:  City Crafter Challenge - Let's Face the Music

I used iPodaBella colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits, and my papers are from Donna Salazar.  Have a fabulous weekend!  Peace.

Art Journals and Pixie Butts

I had a blast combining challenges this week to bring you these spooooooky art journal pages...

I am entering these pages into the:
Lollipop Crafts Challenge - Anything But a Card

The spiderweb and witch images are from Tiddly Inks.  The cauldron you can find here.  The awesome jar full of eyeballs is from Smeared Ink.  I printed out the poem in a creepy cool font.  I painted Gesso on my pages and then sprayed with Silver Foil Smooch Spritz.  Images and text were printed on copy paper, and colored with markers and pencils/Gamsol.  After it was all applied with Mod Podge, I sprayed more Smooch Spritz on it.

The left side of the page is for the:

And... the right side of the journal is for the:

I hope you enjoyed my foray into the creepy - I'm trying REALLY hard not to do "cute" with these challenges, but I admit that witch is pretty darn adorable.  hee hee  I decided to do an extra page for the Tiddly Inks challenge, too, this one is definitely more "cute":
I used "Little Miss Sunshine" and "Dandylion Pixie" for this one.  :)
And I have just one more card to share today - phew!  This one is for 2 challenges:

and

I used Petit Pot from the Just Some Lines store, colored with Prismacolor pencils/mineral spirits and Prismacolor markers.  DP is from My Mind's Eye - cardstock and gemstone brads are from Stampin' Up!
Peace.

TGF Heart Journal & D2D

OK so this week's theme proved to be pretty challenging for the:

We had to use the head of a picture of someone from a magazine and "draw" a body... I cheated a little and used a fairy costume digital stamp from Digi Sparkle for the body... this was a really tough one for me, but I think it came out very... interesting and unique.  LOL  I used Gesso on my pages, then some watered-down purple and yellow acrylic paints.  After it dried, I sprayed it all with Gold Foil Smooch Spritz.  The quote is from Peter Pan and says "Every time a child says 'I don't believe in fairies' there is a fairy somewhere that falls down dead."  :)

I also have a card for the:

I decided to paper-piece the entire image, using cardstock and DP from Stampin' Up!  Brads are also from SU!  Ribbon tag is from my stash.  Peace.

Farm Fresh Friday - White Out!

One cute card to share with you for today's:
The challenge was to keep your card as WHITE as possible.  I made this card for my nephew Josh's 14th birthday.  Hope he likes it!  All I did was stamp the image and emboss it with clear powder, then fussy-cut it out.  I used black cardstock for the base, then a white cardstock layer, which I adhered the image to and stamped the sentiment directly on.  Voila, done.  Have a great Tuesday!  Peace.

Fall Challenges

And we're back to Monday.  Yesterday brought some sad news - I found out that a good friend of mine, Sheri, lost her husband (Shannon) this weekend.  Their young son battled cancer and kicked its butt several years ago, which prompted them to spend the next years participating in marathons and races and things to raise money for cancer support and research.  Apparently, he collapsed while training and never regained consciousness.  My heart just goes out to my friend Sheri and her son Ashton - Shannon wasn't much older than me.  :(  Keep them in your thoughts, my kind friends.  Thank you.
Just one card to share today - been busy this weekend, finished up those birthday party invitations and just had time to squeeze in my card for the:

I am also entering this into the following challenges:
Pile it On - Fall Colors Challenge
Heart Song Inspirations - Use the color orange and/or buttons
Crafty Purple Frog - Fall
Digi Doodle Challenge - Fall Colors

I used the adorable new digi image from The Greeting Farm - Cheeky Kitty - colored with Prismacolor markers.  Cardstock, DP, brads, and ribbon are from Stampin' Up!  The black paper has crows all over it and the bat is cut out from another piece of the same DP.

So my advice for the day is to tell the people you love how you feel about them - you might not get a tomorrow.  Peace.

Sugar Bowl - Sketch with Scraps

OK so you know how sometimes you just have "one of those days"?  Well, I had one of those yesterday - but it was a GOOD "one of those days"!  LOL  It was just one of those days that everything went better than expected.  I woke up in a good mood, got an unexpected check in the mail and was able to go do a nice, big grocery shopping... hubby got a phone call about a really great job opportunity... daughter spent at least 4 hours cleaning and organizing her room... and we had a visit from one of our best friends.  Yup, it was a great day.  :)  Now it's Sunday morning, hubby is going to make me a yummy breakfast of fried eggs, maple flavored bacon, home fries, and toast - and then I'm going to spend the rest of the day finishing up an order for "My Little Pony" birthday party invitations.  Perfect weekend.  :)

For today, I have one card to share with you for the:

I used ALL scraps on this except for the cardstock base.  I even used a scrap to paper-piece her dress (it's that glossy cardstock that I had brayered with Pumpkin Pie Spectrum ink for a project earlier in the week).

That's all for today - hope you have "one of those days" today!  :)  Peace.

Haunted Design House - 7 Deadly Sins

It's a GORGEOUS Saturday morning here in Massachusetts - this is my favorite kind of weather, when the sun's shining but the air is cool & crisp.  I absolutely love it - cannot wait to go apple picking and make apple crisp and all that Fall goodness. We like to go when the leaves are colorful and stuff, so probably in about 2 weeks.

Today I have a card for the:

I chose "wrath" as my sin - hee hee - I can think of a few people I could send this card to... hee hee  I'll probably behave and just keep it as a display piece, though.  Or sell it.  Either way, I struggled with which sin to base my project on and when I stumbled across this digi image from HelloKids.com I just knew I had to do WRATH!  hee hee  I colored the grim reaper with Prismacolor pencls & mineral spirits.  I misted the white background paper with Silver Foil Smooch Spritz and layered it on red and black cardstock from SU!  Brads are also from SU!  Have a great weekend!  Peace.

Celebrate Fall!

Happy Friday!  I am a happy girl today - my hubby is home after being away for 2.5 weeks.  Jeremy's great-uncle and aunt from Pennsylvania are visiting gram this weekend, so we're going over for a visit this afternoon with the kids.  Other than that, I have a very quiet weekend planned.  I've been busy with my TGF (The Greeting Farm) stamps and digi images lately, they are just so much fun to color.  First up today I have a card that I'm entering into the:
Anyone for Anya - September Color Challenge

and
Sketch Saturday Challenge #172

I printed out Miss Anya Autumn digi image really big and colored her with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  I cut her out just around where her hair ends and kept the white square background (rather than fussy-cutting her) to maintain that splash of white.  I used cardstock, DP, and brads from SU!  This card is about 7x5.5, bigger than my usual cards.  I love this image and these colors are so perfect for her, aren't they?

Next up is my card for the:

Greeting Farm Mystery Monday

and

CES Challenges - Make it Magical (or Spooky)
and

Really Reasonable Ribbon #42 - Autumn
and

I used another TGF digi image, this one is called Autumn Fairy.  I took a piece of glossy cardstock from SU! and my brayer, rolled it through a Pumpkin Patch Spectrum ink pad and then down the glossy cardstock.  I used this for my background and to paper-piece the fairy's clothes, I also used it for the background punch that I mounted the sentiment to.  Ribbon and glitter are from SU!  Sentiment is from The Angel Company, gemstone stickers are from my stash.

Hope you have a great weekend!  Peace.

TGF, Creative Card Crew, & Desert Islands Crafts!

Lots of good stuff to share with you today!  First up is my card for The Greeting Farm's:

Farm Fresh Friday Challenge - Hot or Cold?

I decided to go with cold - need to get a jump on my Christmas cards!  :)  I used the adorable Santa Ian from the Xmas Sweeties set, paper-pieced his clothes and used Fun Flock for the fluffy trim.  Cardstock, DP, and brads are from SU!  Snowflakes are from a punch.

I'm currently on 2 Design Teams, and today I have cards for both of them!  First up is for the:
Desert Islands Crafts Challenge!  Click on the link to see the itinerary for this week and to link up!

I used numbers 1, 2, 3, 9, and 10:

This sweet little school girl image is from By Lori Designs "Puddle Jumper" collection.  I paper-pieced her skirt, colored the rest with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  Cardstock & DP are from Stampin' Up!  The chalkboard is a digi image from Tiddly Inks.  Make sure you play along with our fun itinerary challenge this week!

Next - I have a few baby cards posted over on the Just Some Lines blog - click here to see them all.  Here's just one of them, which I am entering into the:

Creative Card Crew - Babies

I used the "Crib for Baby" image, colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  This DP from SU! is old, old, old - from the days before they even made their DP double-sided.  LOL  The ribbon is also from SU! and the buttons are from foof-a-la.  :)

Our temps are supposed to cool down today and we are expecting thunderstorms this afternoon (which I love).  I'm being taken out to dinner by a good friend tonight, so I'm looking forward to that!  Have a great day.  Peace.

D2D, TGF Heart Journal, City Crafter, & Forever Night

I have been on a roll the last day or two - made several projects yesterday, I'll share a few of them with you today.  First is my art journal page for this week, which I'm entering into:

City Crafter Challenge Blog - I Heart You
and

I am also linking up to the She's Gone Digital Art Journal Linky Party

I used a combination of images from Pixel Scrapper, Dilly Beans, Melonheadz... I put Gesso on my pages, let it dry.  Then I painted a red heart on the left page with watered-down acrylic paint, then applied Mod Podge to the images on copy paper after I colored them.  I sponged red ink all around it.  Can you guess what my ONE WORD is?  ;)

Next is an ATC I made for the challenge at :

I'm also entering this into the:
2 Sisters Challenge Blog - Black & White & One Other Color

I got this image from Lenny's Alice in Wonderland site.  I used lots of Mod Podge and only a touch of red marker.
And last is my card for this week's:

I colored the Autumn Harvest image with both SU! & Prismacolor markers, and used some of my pencils & mineral spirits.  I wrapped twine around it and spritzed the whole thing with Gold Foil Smooch Spritz, which you cannot see as well in the pic - it's much prettier in real life.

Come back tomorrow to see more!  :)  Peace.

All That Scraps & Pixie Dust Studio

OK so today is a dedicated crafting day - yay!  :)  I don't even have to pick Cass up from school, so I should be able to get quite a bit done today.

I have a few cards to share with you today, first is the card I made for Trevor's graduation from high school - this is for the:

I used one of the Creeper Crew dudes, he reminds me of Bob Marley so I also used musical background paper.  :)  I colored him with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits, the sentiment is a sticker that I applied to white cardstock and punched out with a large circle punch.

Then I also made these 2 cute little sweet peas for the:

I am also entering the above card into the:

*********************************

I decided to do one of each for the Pixie Dust Challenge, I used the Baby Pea image for both, and all of my cardstock and DP is from Stampin' Up!  I colored my sweet peas with 2 different shades of green with my Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  Buttons are from my stash.

Have a happy Tuesday!  Peace.

Flutter By Wednesday

I didn't get much crafting done this weekend, after all.  The weekend just flew by - Trev was feeling sad yesterday, missing grandpa.  They were very close - Trev said to me "I know he's been gone for 2 years, but..." and I just said "Buddy, grief doesn't have an expiration date."  I told him he'd probably always miss him.  Sometimes he'll miss him with a smile on his face, and sometimes he'll miss him and want to scream and cry and maybe yell at God.  It's all OK.  As a matter of fact, it's healthy.  So anyway, I put the crafting aside and watched movies with my boy all afternoon.  We watched Snake Eyes with Nicolas Cage, it was really good and neither of us had ever seen it before.  Then we watched The Green Mile - we'd both seen that one several times, and I'm sure we'll see it again.  Great movie.

Anyway, I did manage to make a card for the:

I used the sassy Emo Punk Princess Fairy image from Just Some Lines, colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  Cardstock, DP, glitter, gemstone brads and ribbon are from Stampin' Up!  The crown and wand brad are from my stash.  Peace.

Just Some Lines Halloween Stuff

Today's my day to post over at the Just Some Lines blog, so I decided to play with some of the fun Halloween images that Jehanne has drawn for us - make sure you check out my post over there so you can see my other card, too.

Here is one of the cards I made using "Getting Ready for Halloween":
I colored the image with my Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  Cardstock is from SU!  I used DP from SU! - ribbon and button are from my stash.

I am linking up to the:
Getting Cricky - Halloween

And I am also entering this card into the following challenges:

Craft Us Crazy - Autumn Colors

Squiggle Stamps - Spooky Fun

I am making a big pot of spaghetti sauce with meatballs and sausage today, can't wait to smell it cooking in a couple of hours!  Hope you all have a relaxing Sunday!  Peace.

Anyone for Anya: Back to School & Just Some Lines: New Baby!

What a week - it's been a long one.  I won't bore you with every little thing that happened, but my poor nephew had 2 seizures in one day - he's 20 and he has epilepsy, but that was the first time he'd ever had 2 in one day.  My poor sister was just beside herself.  :(  The doctors have been changing and adjusting his medication for the past few years but so far, they haven't found anything that works.  It's beyond frustrating - it just makes us all feel so damn helpless.  *sigh*  He's OK, though, and that's all that matters in the long run.

First up today is a card I made for the:
Anyone for Anya - Back to School!

I used one of the sweet Creeper Crew kids, doesn't she look just thrilled to be heading back to school?  hee hee  I paper pieced her skirt and colored her with a combination of Prismacolor markers & pencils and mineral spirits.  Cardstock is from SU!  DP is from 7Gypsies and buttons are from my stash.  :)

We have a new challenge for you over at Just Some Lines - the theme is  NEW BABY!  Here's my card for this week's challenge:
This little tiger is so sweet holding onto her teddy bear, isn't she?  You can find her in the shop under the FREEBIES here.  I colored her with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  Cardstock, DP, ribbon, punch, and brads are from SU!

Be sure to visit the Just Some Lines blog to play along with our new challenge and to see who I picked as the top 3 from the last challenge!  :)  Have a great weekend!  Peace.
