We have a special treat for you today - a HOLIDAY BLOG HOP at MICHELLE PERKETT STUDIO!  You should have arrived here from Andrea's blog at Andrea's Scraps - if you want to start at the beginning, click here.  Michelle is so generous, she is letting us DT members give away one of her images on our blogs today, so I chose this one:

Girl Stuff

Happy Friday, peeps!  :)  I have another Tiddly Inks card to share with you today, this one is for the:

Do you "heart" this as much as I do???  hee hee  I love it.  I had so much fun making it - I knew exactly what I wanted to do when I saw the theme, but I didn't mean to stick with black and white again cuz I seem to do that a lot with my Tiddly Inks cards!  But I still love it - and I also followed the sketch for the:

Top Tip Tuesday #44 - Make it Girlie

and

***My "tip" for the Top Tip Tuesday challenge is to use double-sided paper, cut your circle from the middle and then flip it over - you get a nice contrast and it's economical because you're not cutting any extra paper!***

I colored "Blow Me Away" with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits and Prismacolor markers.  My cardstock & glitter are from Stampin' Up!  DP is from 7Gypsies - buttons are from my stash.  I hope you are all having a great week!

And I also have a card to share for the:

Magical Mondays - Use Red and Teal

This beautiful angel image is from Dilly Beans, I colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits and Prismacolor markers.  All supplies by Stampin' Up!  Have a fabulous weekend!  Peace.

Tiddly Inks & D2D

I have another sample card to show you today featuring one of Christy's new Steampunk images from Tiddly Inks...

This sweet Mermaid is one of my favorite of the new images.  I printed her once and then again a bit larger, and also printed out the magnifying glass image.  I then cut out the middle of the magnifying glass and mounted it over the larger image's face after I had colored it in.  Then I filled it in with Crystal Effects to create a glassy look.  I love the way it looks, what do you think?  I am also entering it into this week's challenge at:
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes

Oh and psssttt.... go check out the Tiddly Inks blog for this week's freebie and even MORE new releases (Christy is an enabler!  LOL) - click here.
Next up is my card for this week's:

I colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  Cardstock, DP, brads and rub-on stitching are from Stampin' Up!

Tiddly Inks - Wizardette

I have another card to share with you today for the little challenge that Christy is having over at Tiddly Inks - Samples Show Off!

I used Wizardette for this card, colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  The sentiment is a stamp from Stampin' Up!  Cardstock and DP, as well as oval punch, are also from SU!  Little black gemstone stickers are from my stash.  Peace!  :)

Pixie Dust Sketch Challenge

I finally had a chance to color this sweet Pixie Dust image that I've had printed out for, like, ever.  I decided to follow the sketch and enter the:

I colored my image with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  DP is from My Mind's Eye - buttons are from foof-a-la.

OK now I'm also going to share with you my very first pages in my very first EVAH art journal.  Don't laugh.  Please.  Pretty Please.  LOL   OK you can laugh - but I had fun, and that's what an art journal is about.  I am playing along with the Greeting Farm's Heart Journaling project.  Here are my first 2 pages, the theme for Week 1 is "Spread Your Wings" so I went with butterflies because this poem reminded me of Mel:

So yup, this was my first time playing with Gesso and paints, I went and used a 50% coupon at AC Moore and got a set of small tubes of acrylic paints.  Instant.  Addiction.  Holy cow - I love them.  I love painting.  And one thing I learned is that these colors are BRIGHT.  I would have lightened up the green had I known how bright it was, but c'est la vie, you know?  I know it looks like a 5-year-old did it, but I do not care.  Seriously - I had a blast and I learned a few things right away (like foam brushes work better for over-all coverage and small angled brushes are better for details and drawing lines).  I am finishing up the cover and first single page of my journal now and will be sure to share later.  The best thing about art journals is that they are YOURS - you're not giving them to anyone, there's no doing it wrong... so you can just relax and have fun with it.  Peace.

HDH Haunted Birthday & MPS Spotlight Saturday

First off today -
H*A*P*P*Y* 18th B*I*R*T*H*D*A*Y*
to my son, Trev!!!

I know I've posted this pic before, but it's my favorite recent one, so you get to see it again.  :)  We are going out for an ice cream lunch with my sister and her kids today.  It's supposed to be another scorcher, so that should be refreshing and fun.  :)  Then we're having a little cookout this evening with Grandpa Richie, his friend Harry, gram, and our friend Tim.  I promised Trev I'd bring him to a store today so he could buy his first "scratch ticket"!  LOL    Boy, my "baby" - my firstborn - turning 18... it makes me reminisce about when he was a little guy.  Giving him baths and wrapping him in those adorable hooded towels, the smell of baby lotion, rocking him in the rocking chair, singing lullabies and reading him books before bed like "Is Your Mama a Llama?"   I always loved kids but I never knew what real love was until I had my first baby.  Thank you, Trev.  You were such a good baby and I'm so proud of the young man you are growing into.  I love you.  Happy birthday, buddy.  :)  xoxoxoxo

Appropriately enough, I'd like to share the card I made for Lynx's birthday bash at the:

I used "Balloon Girl" from Dilly Beans, colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits - red marker for her eyes.  Cardstock, DP, and brads are all from SU!  I cut the skulls from the DP to decorate her dress and the balloon.  :)

Next up - today is SPOTLIGHT SATURDAY at Michelle Perkett Studio!  Make sure you visit to see the lovely creations from the DT - here's my contribution for this week:
This image is called Willow the Autumn Fairy - I LOVE the moon behind her, and I had a blast coloring her in with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits as well as markers.  DP is from My Mind's Eye and I thought the colors were perfect for this image!  Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!  Peace.

Tiddly Inks & Stamping Bella

This week flew by - I hate that about Summer!  I want it to last and last... although I could do without the stifling humidity, it's so gross!  It's like you can't even catch a deep breath - ick.  Trev turns 18 tomorrow, I can hardly believe it.  My boy is growing up on me.  *sigh*  I'm so proud of him, deciding to go to college without being forced (having worked at a college for several years, I've seen how badly it usually works when kids are forced) and having a life goal for himself.  He's such a good person, which is what I'm most proud of.  :)

For today I'm going to share both of my Tiddly Inks cards and my Stamping Bella cards with you.  First up is the card for the:

Tiddly Inks - Show Off Steampunk Images

I used the the Steampunk background paper "grunge text", along with the gorgeous Owlette image and her spooky tree, colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  I wrinkled up the background paper and used Smooch Spritz on it to give it a distressed look.  I love the way this came out!

Next up is my card for this week's:

Oh geez - can you guess which movie I based my card on?  hee hee  I used the adorable "Eggspecting" image, colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  Cardstock, DP & brads are from SU!  Button is from foof-a-la.

I used Florence the Flower Pot Girl, colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits and a little bit of SU! markers.  Cardstock, DP, ribbon, felt flowers, and rub-on sentiment all from SU!  I am also entering this one into the:

Papertake Weekly Challenge - Something Cute

Have a great weekend!  Peace.

By Lori Designs - Lollipop Day! :)

I wanted to share this sweet card I made, while encouraging you to visit:

Lori draws the most adorable images, I love them because they are fun to color, fun to paper-piece, and make almost any card come out super-cute!  Here's the card I wanted to share:
These 2 images are called Molly & Sunny and they were actually drawn by Lori's daughter Hannah.  Artistic ability obviously runs in this family!

Oh - and there is a new Summer release that you MUST see - the Watermelon Lollipop Smile girl is my favorite... Peace!

Delightful Inspirations Peacock & Just Some Lines

It's gonna be a HOT one today.  Like hot-and-humid-and-can't-do-much-but-complain-kinda-hot.  LOL  I don't think any of us will be doing much of anything, might be a good day to eat ice cream for lunch and watch movies all day!

Anyway, I was not sure I could do it justice, but I ended up liking the card I came up with using this peacock image from last week's:

I had fun coloring this in with my Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  DP is from My Mind's Eye, buttons are from my stash.

Today is also my day to post over at the Just Some Lines blog, where I showed 2 different ways to color and create with this adorable image called "Amber Swings":

Check out my post over at JSL for the details and to see the 2nd card.  Stay cool!  Peace.

A Day for Daisies & Summer Pictures

I had a chance to grab all 3 freebie digi images from A Day for Daisies 300 member celebration  - this is the 3rd and my personal favorite...

"G is for Birthday Girl" is colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  DP is from My Mind's Eye, buttons are from foof-a-la.

Wanted to share some new pics - Cass and I took gram up to visit Jeremy's cousin Leia and her sweet baby Elianna the other day.  Leia has a BEE-YOO-TIFUL yard, and I had a chance to catch some hummingbirds and lots of butterflies with my camera, enjoy but look closely:

Isn't she just adorable???

Leia with Elianna, who is doing her "Elvis lip" - hee hee

Cass adores her - and she's pretty fond of Cass, too.  Well, I mean, how can you not be?  My girl is pretty wonderful herself.  :)
Well that's all for now - enjoy your day!
Peace.

ATS - Side Step Card!

I had never made a side-step card before, and I almost didn't have time to try this week!  But I really wanted to give it a whirl, so I made this card for the:
It took me 3 tries.  ROFL  It was my fault, though, I wasn't following the instructions carefully.  Anyway, I love the way it came out - it was worth the effort!  I am also entering this into the following challenges:

Pile It On! - Life is a Picnic*

*(cuz to me, life is a picnic if you can spend it at the beach hanging out with mermaids, building sandcastles and surfing!)

I used Surfer Emma and Mermaid Beach/rock/fish digis from the All That Scraps store along with a couple of stamps from My Favorite Things (shovel & pail and shells) and a sandcastle digi image from Tiddly Inks.  :)  Everything is colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits and Prismacolor markers, with glitter thrown in.  Cardstock is from SU!  Peace.

Michelle Perkett - Inspired By Song!

I had fun making a card for this week's challenge at Michelle Perkett Studio - the them is Inspired By Your Favorite Song!  Now don't forget to also use one of Michelle's images!

When I saw this image, I thought of one of my favorite Led Zeppelin songs - "Going to California" - particularly the verse "Someone told me there's a girl out there, with love in her eyes and flowers... in her hair..."  *sigh*  I love Led Zep.  :)  Anyway - here's my card:

I am also entering this card into the following challenges:

The image is called "Emma the Amore Fairy" - I colored her with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits and used some clear glitter from EK Success.  DP is from 7Gypsies - ribbon & button are from my stash.  :)  Peace.

Tiddly Inks Challenge #57 - Reel Me In

This week's challenge at Tiddly Inks is a fun one - it's called:
The challenge is to create a project based on a "summer or scary movie" - so I made my card based on my favorite movie of all time:

It's a little scary, a little love story, and a lot of fun.  My favorite song in this movie is Harry Nilsson's "Coconut" - listen here.  hee hee

I just love this song, it reminds me of one of my oldest & dearest friends, Cathy, and hearing it just makes me happy.  LOL  It also makes me want to have MIDNIGHT MARGARITAS... mmmmmm.... ;)

Off to enjoy this gorgeous Sunday - peace.  :)

HDH - Loathsome Lotharios & D2D

I've been super busy creating for Scrapbook News & Review magazine, so I haven't been participating in as many challenges recently.  But I just LOVE the Macabre Monday challenges at Haunted Design House, so I try to find time to play every week.  This week the challenge is:

The challenge was to "create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based art piece
representing those bad boys we (sometimes) love to hate."  I used the angel boy from The Greeting Farm's Sweet & Toxic set, along with the horns cut from the devil from the Naughty or Nice set.  He's not sure if he's an angel or a devil - maybe just a little of each, eh?  He's colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  DP is from Die Cuts With a View - ribbon & brads are from SU!

I also faithfully play along with the weekly challenge at Delightful Inspiration Challenge blog.  This week we received this sweet strawberry digital image to create with:

I colored with Prismacolor pencils & mineral spirits.  Image is adhered with foam dimensionals, I kept it pretty simple.  Ribbon and cardstock are from SU!  Brads are from my stash.  Peace.
